Fellow Hashers,

I will clarify what happened regarding the coordinates in the top field (with the bottom one filled with the destination address "8401 Honeycutt Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615".

A fellow hasher emailed me to say that the coordinates are incorrect and lead to my house!
Ergo, the top field should be filled with each  hasher's starting point.

The pesky problem is that, since this message comes from my PC, the top field will automatically get filled in with my address. This time, my address was written in coordinates.

However, my post, after a hasher told me about the incorrect coordinates, was immediate because I was greatly concerned that some folks might use those coordinates tomorrow, which would take them directly to my house instead of the hash!

Looking back, I better understand what happened, and am here to clarify the details. Here's what I wrote in the announcement:

"The link to Google Maps opens to a map with the destination.

On the left margin, enter your starting location in the top field.
If something’s already there—like the coordinates below (in the top field)—just replace it with your address or starting point."

So, looking back, I better understand what happened and why the coordinates in the 'starting point' space may have caused some confusion.

Hopefully, this explanation will be helpful!  See you tomorrow, and

On-On!
