Some trails may be shorter… and some, longer… but others, still, can lead you to exotic places every bit as beautiful as they are faraway.
So, where am I going with this?
With a tear, a sigh, and a heart brimming with fondest wishes for all the best to our hares, I am posting a Pre-Announcement for our 696th hash.
Soon, it will be time to gather for a Beautiful, Bittersweet Sendoff for one of our own dynamic duos: Stephanie “Squirts Under Pressure” and Ronnie “D.I.E. Corn (Did I Eat Corn?)”.
What started as a trip of a lifetime to New Zealand with friends turned into something even bigger—a new chapter, a bold leap, and a shared future on the other side of the globe.
Stephanie has already taken the plunge (as hydrologists do), bringing her water wisdom to a land that clearly appreciates her expertise. Meanwhile, Ronnie has been holding things down here at OWASA—but not for much longer…
Now, the time has come.
Stephanie/Squirts is returning stateside for a brief but meaningful visit, and together they’re preparing to close one chapter and begin another—this time, side by side again—as they both make the move to New Zealand to start their next great adventure.
And what better way for hashers to say goodbye than the only way we know how… with trail, camaraderie, questionable decisions, and plenty of fluids?
Join us Friday evening, June 5th
Near (or at) their Durham home – exact details coming soon…
Pack off around 5–6 PM – with summer light on our side for a proper trail sendoff!
This will be more than just a hash—it’s a farewell filled with gratitude, memories, laughter, and all the feels.
Let’s show Squirts and D.I.E. Corn just how much they mean to this kennel, and send them off with full hearts (and probably some empty growlers).
More details to come… but for now, mark your calendars and start emotionally preparing yourselves.
Let's propose a heartfelt toast -
To love, to adventure, to new beginnings—and to trails that never truly end.
On-On to New Zealand, you two. We’ll miss you more than words can say - but know, in the future, we'd love to visit you. <3 <3 <3
On-On-On,
Lickety Spit
