We are only days away now . . . If you plan to attend INTERHASH 2026 in Indonesia, you will have the opportunity to steer the future of this fabulous event. Attached is a of the known bids for 2028.
Kuching previously hosted in 2010, Kuala Lumpur has previously hosted in 1980 and 1998.
Beyond IH, Mother Hash will also be hosting a 90th Anniversary weekend in Sep 2028.
I am throwing my full support to the Kenya bid . . . If INTERHASH is truly to be an international event, it finally needs to come to AFRICA. So, when you get the chance to vote in May, I encourage you to vote KENYA! It's time for Interhash to go to Africa.

HASH HISTORY:
Over the next few months, I will be providing historical facts, to simply correct the record or dispel many of the false accounts of Hash House Harriers (HHH) history.
According to The Athletics Museum, “One of the earliest Hares and Hounds events on record was the "Crick Run" at Rugby School in Warwickshire, England, first held in 1837.”
How did this kids’ game become a beloved adult pastime? In 1867, members of the ThamesRowing Club were looking for training activities to stay fit during their off-season. The first event they organized was a steeplechase on 7 Dec 1867, following that up with two more such events in Feb and Mar of 1868.
Not fully satisfied with steeplechase, they created the Thames Hare and Hounds and went full in for that old kid’s game. Little did they know what would come of it. There are several other references to such childhood play in books, movies, and newspaper articles. Examples include:
• the 1857 novel by Thomas Hughes, ‘Tom Brown’s School Days’
• a Harper's Weekly article, dated May 23, 1874, titled ‘Hare and Hounds’
• Rudyard Kipling mentions playing paperchase in 1878, in his book ‘Souvenirs ofFrance’
• the 1939 movie ‘Goodbye Mr. Chips’ has a scene depicting a paper chase.
