This would be a long drive for those of us farther west (Durham, Chapel Hill, etc).

So give yourselves plenty of time - at least an hour – and then some - to cover traffic situations.

The simplest route would be via 540-E.

The entire route from Durham /Chapel Hill is

 I‑40 E → I‑440 E → I‑87 S / US‑64 E → Smithfield exit → Athletic Club Blvd → Charleston Dr → Sarazen Dr.

The good news is that this is essentially a continuous freeway route:

  NC‑147 South (from Durham)

  I‑40 East

  I‑440 East (go approximately 12-15 miles)

  Follow signs for I‑87 South / US‑64 East / US‑264 East (Wilson / Rocky Mount / Clayton)

Move to Right lanes! Left lanes continue on the Beltline.

  Stay on US‑64 East toward Clayton

  from I‑87 / US‑64 / US‑264 East, Take Smithfield exit – slight Right onto S Smithfield

 Continue approximately 6.1 miles - S Smithfield becomes Pritchard, but it’s the same road.

  Take Right onto Athletic Club Blvd.

  At the roundabout, take 1st exit-Charleston Dr.

  Take immediate left onto Sarazen Dr. Go about half mile

  Destination is on the left.

PARKING: You can park in the driveway and in front of the house. When that fills up, there is an open lot on the right as you come down the street. It’s right before my house. Park anywhere around there that you can fit.

DOGS:  Yes, but on a leash. Be sure to bring water and bowls for them – they’ll get thirsty, especially in this infernal season.

WALKERS: Yes – but you know the drill - Stick together, ie don’t range – and if there’s a sweep, take advantage of that.

WORDZ FROM DA HAREZ: Trail will be A-to-A.

Gonna keep this as Tarheel style as we can. Likely just one beer break, definitely shiggy, but nothing crazy. Doing our best to make this trail runnable. Refreshments will be provided at the house afterwards.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:

Please be prompt!  (As previously stated, allow plenty of time to get here!)

Bring your “B-Bag” (even if trail is A to A), with whatever extras you need (change of clothes,        sunscreen, repellent, etc)

Bring lawn chairs, whistle, dry shoes to change into…blah, blah, blah. You’re an adult. You’ll            figure it out.

LOST?: Call the hares -  Dicktaphone (Lisa)  919-696-0088 or

Quick To Shoot (Jeff) 309-256-9400.   Cheers -  and On-On!
