Greetings, Fellow Hashers!

To call Hazukashii a world traveler feels like an understatement once you glimpse how deeply he's engaged—past and present—with kennels and their members who've left a lasting imprint on the hashing world. Thanks to the abundance of hash events across the globe, the world feels smaller than it truly is, stitched together by shared experiences and vibrant cultures.

Hashers eagerly cross continents to explore new places and connect with fellow enthusiasts from far and wide. In this way, strangers become acquaintances, and acquaintances grow into lifelong As we look ahead to November’s whirlwind of global hashing events, I continue to preface this article with a reminder: the calendar is brimming with opportunities for connection, celebration, and influence.

Hazukashii speaks to us directly, urging hashers to get involved and help shape the future of interhash—both the host countries and the spirit they represent. Case in point: the 2026 Indonesia event promises an unforgettable experience. But the conclusion of that gathering carries weight, too, as hashers cast their votes to determine the next interhash destination. Hazukashii makes a compelling case for Kenya—let’s make Africa the next site for 2028!

As Haz continues to leave footprints on trails across the globe, he not only makes new friends but reconnects with old ones—like Mountain Rescue, founder of the first UK hash. It’s a full-circle moment: Hazukashii first interviewed Mountain Rescue back in 2011, when he penned his inaugural hash history article.

Now, our favorite hash historian has completed the long-anticipated manuscript for his book chronicling the history of hashing-and his old friend and UK hash founder is featured there, too! The publishing contract is signed, and final formatting is underway. Haz will let us know when his “True Trail” opus is hot off the press and ready to purchase.

Speaking of history, Haz’s trusty Way Back Machine revs up again, linking us to November dispatches from 5, 10, 15, and 20 years past. Each one is a time capsule—proof that hashing doesn’t just follow the world’s rhythms, it dances with them.

Regos are open! A few events- those in September – are now past, but many others are on the way, marking milestones (between 600th and 2500th) and special anniversaries.

Some highlights of the upcoming November hashes include the Hogtown H3 event in Ontario (Several of us in Sir Walter’s attended their 2005 InterAm!); Holland’s Blue Dress Run (not abroad, but here in the USA: a town in Michigan); Wankers Away H3, sailing from Jacksonville, Florida; and among the locations outside of North America, we have events in Edinburgh, Scotland; Barbados; Lisbon, Portugal; and the United Kingdom. Interhashes include the Virginia Interhash XXIX and the PanAsia in Taiwan. Wherever hashers may go, Hashy trails!

Closing with Hazukashii’s thought for the day:  speed may not lower cholesterol, but it sure raises spirits. He playfully reminds us that life’s too short to drive slow or worry long.

Cheers and On-On,

Lickety Spit

Greetings Hashers,

I want to start this months dribble with a special announcement for your
attention.  If you plan to attend INTERHASH 2026 in Indonesia, you will have
the opportunity to steer the future of this fabulous event.  Kenya is
bidding to host, and if INTERHASH is truly to be an international event, it
finally needs to come to AFRICA.  I feel so strongly about this, that I have
joined the Organizing Committee to support and contribute to making this a
reality.  So when you get the chance to vote next year, I encourage you to
vote KENYA!  See the details at It's time for Interhash to go to Africa.
Check out this bid for IH 2028  . . .  https://www.interhash2028kenya.com

------------------------------------

I have had a very busy month, hashing in several countries across Asia,
Europe, and Africa.  During a visit to the United Kingdom to attend the UK
Nash Hash, I was fortunate to run into Mountain Rescue at the DEEPCUT H3.
We had a very interesting conversation of his founding of the first hash in
the UK.  He is actually the first hasher I interviewed to write my first
article on hash history that I published back in 2011.
https://dsth3.gotothehash.net/hhhistoryinde.html

Mountain Rescue will feature in my book coming out soon.  Speaking of the
book, I have signed a contract for publishing.  The manuscript has been
completed, now the publisher will complete the final formatting and various
other tasks.  I will make a special announcement when it will be available
to order online in the coming weeks, just in time for Christmas.  The title
is . . .  TRUE TRAIL - How Hashing Migrated Around the World.

------------------------------------
HHH Genealogy - Based on the keen eye of BoBo, he noticed a possible date
discrepancy in the HHH Genealogy.  As they are preparing for their 50th
Anniversary next year, the London H3 had been listed as being founded on 7
Apr 1976.  After a bit of research, I was able to confirm his suspicion that
the actual date is 5 Apr 1976.  So if you are interested in joining the
London H3 for their big celebration . . . mark your calendar now.  Details
to follow.
