Hello NYRP Community Gardeners!

My name is Lauren Loeb, and I am the Public Relations Manager at New York Restoration Project. Rachael Brody, NYRP’s Community Development Coordinator (whom you all know!), gave me your contact information. I am reaching out to you regarding a video we are taping for NYRP. The video will feature NYRP as a whole, but a large part of it will be a highlight on our community gardens. We will be taping this Friday, October 1, at a number of our Brooklyn and Queens community gardens.

I am reaching out to you to see if you are available anytime (morning preferable) on Friday, October 1, to be interviewed at your community garden by our video crew.

As you know, NYRP’s community gardens provide tranquility where concrete otherwise rules – functioning as village greens, urban farms and outdoor classrooms in areas of the city where public parks or other open spaces do not or simply cannot exist. These oases of natural beauty not only produce vegetables, herbs and flowers – they also improve the health of neighborhood residents and families, promote community interaction and pride, and bring the promise of local community and economic development.

We’d love for you (and/or any of the community gardeners at your garden) to be a part of this video! We know how passionate our community gardeners are about their green spaces and we’d be so happy to have you all share your contagious “green thumbs” and be a part of this incredible video about NYRP.

Please let me know if you or any of the community gardeners at your garden are available anytime (morning preferable) this Friday, October 1 for a 10 minute interview at your community garden. Please reply to this email, or call me at 212-333-2552 and let me know your availability. I will also give you a call tomorrow to follow-up with you if I do not hear from you.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

All the best,

Lauren
