Dear all,

Pls do the listening test via the link below. http://www.mediafire.com/?jjjlxiqbzr1pf5z

You should do it as if it is a real test, i.e. you sit in a quiet room, listen continously once and answer the questions. I will send you the keys as soon as I get your answers, by then, you will know your listening score. To get 20 -25 IBT listening score, you must have 20-27 correct answers out of 34 questions.

I want to help you learn vocabulary  because many of you do not pay much attention to it. I would like to invite Huyen and Hung to be the first to collect all words related to selected topics.
@Hung: Could you collect all words related to the topic ECOLOGY?
@Huyen: Could you collect all words related to the topic HEALTH?

You should use http://dictionary.cambridge.org/ , type the word, copy its pronunciation and meaning. It is really simple and will not take you much time.

For example:

to infect /ɪnˈfekt/ v [T] :  to pass a disease to a person, animal or plant
The ward was full of children infected with TB.
All the tomato plants are infected with a virus.

infection /ɪnˈfek.ʃən/ n [C or U] : a disease in a part of your body that is caused by bacteria or a virus
            a serious infection
            a throat infection
Bandage the wound to reduce the risk of infection.

infectious /ɪnˈfek.ʃəs/ able to pass a disease from one person, animal or plant to another
           an infectious disease/patient
describes something that has an effect on everyone who is present and makes them want to join in
           an infectious laugh
           infectious enthusiasm

For each word, you should look up its family words (as I did) : to infect (v), infection (n), infectious (a). Could you send me by Thursday 9 March so that I will print out and give to other people, who will collect words of other topics the following weeks.

Thank you for cooperation and I hope to see all of you next week.

Best regards,

Dear all,

I have just received HW from some of you and I am still waiting. The sampe test and HW2 of class 5 will be checked in class 6 (Review 2), for a change. We will see how to overcome some of your difficulties in listening. By the way, we will have some time to review vocabulary from class 1 - 5 in class 6, so could you have some revision before the class?

@Huyen and Dung: Could you send me the vocabuary you prepare asap? I just want to make some changes if necessary before delivering it to your classmates.
@ Hung: Thank you so much for your vocablary. Well done! Could you collect some more words from reading passages of the same topic? I want to improve my vocabulary too.

I hope to see you all in class 6.

Best regards,
