Each of the eight pieces cubes are divided into two polyhedrons. By connecting them, you can create a cube with four cubes. By further folding and stretching the joint, it can be transformed into different geometric shapes; and by combining the two pieces it transforms into a regular cube. It is a mysterious CUBE that you can enjoy various silhouettes by combining the pieces.

The movements flow smoothly into each other, so that playing and trying with the Lucky Cube is a haptic experience. Once you have familiarized yourself with the Lucky Cube, the challenges beckon: Dark side out or light side? How should the sides of the cube be arranged? And how do you put the two pieces together to create the structure you're looking for?

When they were at the height of their popularity I was given a very poorly made knockoff that was hard to rotate and regularly caught the corners on nearly every square causing me to have to back off, realign and try again just to rotate once. That kind of soured me on the whole thing.

Having solved using the books that provide the formulas is the realization that most people make the mistake of thinking that you need to complete one side at a time when the cube can be solved if very few moves if you can identify where all the colors are before any sides are solved, much like the computer solvers do.
