It seems that once a named version is created on PyPi, the file can be removed but the name can't be reused. While there appear to be some workarounds, the easiest and safest way seemed to me to be to roll a new release.
This release is identical to 1.0.2 except for the version number. Please consult the 1.0.2 release notes for more details.
