The session in March went really well - thanks to Vince and his presentation of PBX system on a Raspberry Pi.

We talked briefly about what day of the week would suit people best, and there doesn't seem to be one. But Tuesday might be a better bet. What do you think?

The NZSG room is available, but not on the first and last Tuesday of each month. This still leaves 2 or 3 other Tuesdays each month that are available.

Any suggestions / requests / offers for another topic?

Cheers

Peter

3rd Tuesday of month is out for me but second Tuesday would fit beautifully.

Cheers, Graeme

The third Tuesday suits me best, however, I would still only be able to make it every 2nd month!

Keen to learn about Rasberry Pi being used as a media player, just suggesting!

Yes, using a Raspberry Pi (or other Linux box) as a media centre was suggested at the last meeting.
Who has one running that they would like to demo?

I'm not sure about the Pi 2 and 3 but the original Model B makes for a terrible media server, not enough grunt to either decode or for sustained network traffic.

I'm running a pi B+ no probs.  It's crucial though that the correct kernel modules are USSR. I have seen a distro or so which fall back to VGA resulting in no hardware acceleration for video. But I've been watching 1080p movies no problem... No lag or whatever.

What dist you running ?

That said it would be an interesting discussion anyhow to hear from those with success or not.

I was running Raspbian when I tried, this was soon after release though.

Currently I'm making a smart mirror with my Pi.
