Hi Everyone
This is a proposal to restart our Taranaki Linux users group.

First meeting is planned for 7:30 pm on Thursday 17 March.
Vince has offered to demonstrate a Linux based Raspberry PI PBX.
And we have arranged to use the rooms of the New Plymouth genealogy group at Moturoa. This is downstairs below the Moturoa shops, and you get to it from the car park behind the shops.

Let me know if you are interested, and please tell anyone else who might like to attend.

Regards

Peter Hewett

I'm keen, I might be overseas on that date, but if I'm not I'll come.

Wow, been a while since I heard anything of TLUG. I'm since moved to Auckland so it wont be quite practical to attend... But as a telecommunications technician of 8 years, I'm happy to assist anybody via e-mail if they have any telephony related questions

I've just started a new job and I'm working until 7 or 8 tonight so I can't attend unfortunately.

Congratulations on the new job!

For future Linux meetings, is there a time / day of the week that would suit you better?

Hello All

It’s great Peter and Vince have taken the initiative to restart the meetings.

Thursdays are a bit tricky for me, I have Taekwon-Do and my daughter has dancing classes on a Thursday. In any case, I am looking at starting a more Maker type club. Primarily focussed around Raspberry Pi and Arduino, and look to encourage young people to get involved. I have some project ideas for schools - and have three interested so far. I also want to look at monthly workshops where people can come to a location and show off/share their creations, or learn from others.

I have actually ordered a number of Raspberry Pi computers (the brand new version 3!), including power packs and cases, and should have them in NP soon. So if Vince amazes you sufficiently to want one yourself, I can sell them.

Cheers

All I know so far is that most Wednesdays are a no-go, but because this job is in hospitality things like Womad and holiday weekends make regular schedules tricky, I'll turn up when I can.

This also sounds like something I would like to be a part of.

Hi David,
do touch base. I'm keen ... was thinking of doing the same.... might as well combine forces.

Sorry guys but I can't make it tonight as I have had family arrive to
stay. There would be no Brownie points for going out and leaving them.

Cheers, Graeme
