Have you tried Disabling Hibernation all together so that it completely shutsdown instead.

If he uses hibernation in dual boot, he will only reboot into the last used OS instead of getting the boot menu.

If
it's flattening the batery in 24 hours then it's going into "suspend"
mode
not "hibernation".
Two
options:
1.
change the action on the power button - so that it actually powers off
2.
switch the button action to hibernate. gives faster restart
