I don't see the file recovery tip being useful ever, but the progress bar bit might, and I find I always forget that proc actually exists.

I may have to develop some scripts that use it just because I can.

I haven't seen that article yet - but will. I used to use /proc a fair bit - but these days mainly just for checking meminfo and cpuinfo.
