Applications are invited for Team IITM Robocon.
Applicants are requested to go through the following:

ABU ROBOCON 2014

The Concept:

Robocon, stands for Robotic Contest, is an interesting game - cum- intellectual exercise for budding engineers and their enthusiastic instructors, determined to innovate and create machines for producing desired results. It is the most prestigious robotics competition in the Asia-Pacific Region. It aims at bringing together technical prowess and cultures from across the world.

Contest: 

The event takes place in two levels, National and International. This competition is conducted every year with different problem statements, depending on the cultures and traditions of the hosting country. 
This year India is the host for the event. Winner of the national competition will get a privilege to represent India in the international competition

History of Robocon Team of IIT Madras:

  - IIT Madras started participating in 2007
  - We won at National levels in 2009 and successfully participated in the
  - international level which was held at Tokyo, Japan
  - In 2012, our institute won the “Best Idea Award”.
  - In 2013, our institute completed the problem statement the fastest in India and achieved the “Fastest Job Completing Robot Award”.

Work Profile:

1.Mechanical Team: Design, analysis and fabrication of highly precise mechanical systems and ideation for dimensionally constrained mechanisms to achieve the required tasks.
2.Electrical Team: Working with aim specific sensors, actuators and peripherals along with the design of the required circuitry.
3.Coding Team: Development of smart navigation and control algorithms which are very specific to the problem statement and aimed at maximum speed with the available hardware.

Application Procedure:

Students who are interested can send in their application at iitmr...@gmail.com latest by 23:00, Saturday, 17th August 2013 with the subject Robocon2014_<your name>_<roll no.>
In the application kindly answer the following questions:-

Why do you want to participate in Robocon 2014?
What technical activities have you done in the institute/out of the institute?
Mention your relevant credentials.
Mention if you have worked/working on any projects.
Mention your specific area of interest viz. Mechanical, Electrical or Coding.
It may be multi-disciplinary.
References (with contact details)
Mention your CGPA and contact details(Hostel and Mobile number)

Eligibility  

All undergraduates except 1st Years are eligible to apply for the team. Applications for 1st year students will be opened later. The competition does not permit the participation of post-graduates.
