Inthe near future, I will be inheriting a somewhat large project. I've been making some small updates to it recently, and noticed that parts of it could use some refactoring, since there are methods that perform the same operation with a small difference.

I was wondering if there is a tool that will take a bunch of source code and find similar blocks of code so that they could be identified for possible refactoring. It would be great if there was fuzzy searching present, so that it could identify similar operation (other than just chucks of code repeated verbatim).

There's a lot going on, visually, when you throw it at a project with a lot of code duplication. If that combines with your using Clone Detective for the first time, it can be a bit overwhelming at first.

Simian Similarity Analyzer is a product that claims to analyze source code in various languages, including C#. I've never used it, so I can't vouch for it at all. It's free for academic use, and they have a license for commercial projects.

Medicare provides C-codes, a type of HCPCS II code, for hospital use in billing Medicare for some medical devices and supplies in the hospital outpatient setting. The C-code finder is a database of commonly used Medtronic products and their corresponding C-codes.

Medtronic provides this information for your convenience only. Information provided is gathered from third-party sources and is subject to change without notice due to frequently changing billing mechanisms. Medtronic makes no guarantee that the use of this information will prevent differences of opinion or disputes with Medicare or other payers as to the correct form of billing or the amount that will be paid to providers of service. The provider has the responsibility to determine medical necessity and to submit appropriate codes for care provided. Please contact your Medicare contractor, other payers, reimbursement specialists and/or legal counsel for interpretation of coding policies.

A search that does not yield a result may indicate that the searched term is not associated with a Medtronic product, or that the product is not included in the tool. If searching by full model number or name, try searching by the first few letters or numbers to see all possible results.

Not all Medtronic devices have an assigned C-code. For these items, hospitals may choose to report their cost through an associated revenue code. Please review the Medtronic Reimbursement Support page for additional tools and resources.

Hi @EmilieJax. This could be relatively simple if you happen to be maintaining a list of zip codes corresponding to the zips you do service. If that were the case, it'd be a basic comparison against an array. Does the UI need to be map/radius based? Is there any other functionality needed besides asking the user to enter their ZIP and then returning a corresponding message?

Hey @brandon! That's correct, it's just a list of zip codes corresponding to the zips we do service and then providing a corresponding message. It doesn't have to be map/radius based since we have the zips, but hoping to have something sleek or user friendly for UI.

Ok. That being the case, the function of the UI is relatively simple to do. I think there's more work to be done in the design than the actual development, in this case. I'd suggest you do a mockup of what you want it to look like, and have an idea of how it would function. Including:

How do I add this, but instead as an independent form, have it on the pop-up form of a particular item's product page (see image)? I would like to add the address form, and hide everything (name, street, etc.) except for the zip code field.

Then if the zip code input is not included in the list of zip codes I have, a warning along the line of "sorry delivery service is not available in your area" will be displayed. Can this be done with custom css alone?

The Code Finder is a database of AngioDynamic products and their corresponding Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) C-codes. The database allows users to search for HCPCS C-codes by product name, item number, or product category.

The Medicare program established special HCPCS C-codes for highly specialized devices paid under the hospital outpatient prospective payment system, on a transitional basis. Use of the C-codes by hospitals is critical to secure accurate reimbursement. The C-codes will be used for tracking the devices, number of units, and their charges so Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will be able to determine when specific categories of devices are used in outpatient procedures. The HCPCS C-codes used to designate the devices used in hospital outpatient procedures must be reported. The code information here is not to be used to bill or seek separate payment for the device, which may be bundled into payment. These HCPCS codes are not separately payable by Medicare when used in a hospital inpatient or outpatient setting.

To determine the correct NAICS code for your establishment, first identify the primary business activity. Then refer either to: 1) the NAICS United States Structure to search the titles from the 2-digit level down through the 6-digit, more detailed level, to find the appropriate code; or 2) the Alphabetic Index to search alphabetically for the primary activity and its corresponding code. Next, read the full description of the industry (including the narrative, cross-references, and illustrative examples), and determine if that description fits the primary business activity of your establishment.

An industry classification system facilitates the collection, tabulation, presentation, and analysis of data relating to establishments and ensures that data about the U.S. economy published by U.S. statistical agencies are uniform and comparable. There is no central government agency with the role of assigning, monitoring, or approving NAICS codes for establishments. Different agencies maintain their own lists of business establishments to meet their own programmatic needs. These different agencies use their own methods for assigning NAICS codes to the establishments on their lists. Statistical agencies assign one NAICS code to each establishment based on its primary activity. For example, the Social Security Administration assigns a NAICS code to new businesses based on information provided on their application for an Employer Identification Number. The Census Bureau generally assigns NAICS codes to businesses on its list of establishments based on information provided by the business on a survey or census report form. The Bureau of Labor Statistics initially assigns NAICS codes based on business activity information provided on an application for unemployment insurance. Not sure of your congressional district or who your member is? This service will assist you by matching your ZIP code to your congressional district, with links to your member's website and contact page.

There is no central listing of member office public e-mail addresses. Each member of Congress establishes their office's policy related to the processing and management of e-mail. Generally, if a member has a public e-mail address, it can be found on the member's website. The office may list a public e-mail address or provide a form directly on the member's website. The U.S. House of Representatives does not provide a listing of public e-mail addresses for the elected Representatives.
