Hi Steven,
If you are ready to submit your app to the Apple store, you can do so by going to Product > Archive, which should then make a build of the app appear in the Organizer. From there, you can click "Validate" to validate your app (you'll need to make sure that you are also logged into iTunes Connect and that you have already set up a new app, ready to be published, there) and then "Submit" to submit it directly to the store.
If you would like to explort an ad hoc build to install onto a device for testing purposes, you'll also want to go to Produce > Archive. Once the build shows up in the Organizer, you can click "Share" and then "Save to Desktop" to export an .ipa file of the build.
Of course, before doing all of this, you'll need to have an App ID and Provisioning Profile set up for your app in iTunes Connect, and then code sign your app with that provisioning profile in Xcode before building it. Let us know if you have any questions about this aspect of the process.
We're also in the process of adding a new page to the wiki with more info about building ad hoc and App Store builds.
