Hi Taplynxers,

Got a question on how things are developing at Push IO. Any news on TapLynx for iPhone? Is it still actively developed? If so, can we expect support for Facebook sharing, pull-to-refresh functionality, sortable rss feeds and possible other new features any time soon? How are things going for TapLynx for iPad? And are you working on TapLynx for Android yet?

Thanks,
Ton

Ton,

Thank you for checking in!

Yes, we're still doing development on TapLynx, albeit at perhaps a slower pace than any of us might prefer.

It's very helpful to get your feedback on which features you want next, as we've only got limited resources for iOS that are spread across both TapLynx and Push IO work.

Would you say the list below is ranked by your priorities? i.e.:

1) Facebook sharing
2) Pull-to-refresh
3) Sortable RSS Feeds
4) iPad 1.0
5) Android version

While some of the recent updates have been more mundane things like dealing with changes to Twitter, updates for iPhone 5 / iOS 6, and updated push notifications support, we will continue to offer new features as we can, so thank you for offering some guidance as to what our customers in the field need most.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly if you'd like to discuss any of this in more detail.

Thank you for using TapLynx!

Joe

Hi Joe,

Ton,

Thank you for checking in!

Yes, we're still doing development on TapLynx, albeit at perhaps a slower pace than any of us might prefer.

2) Pull-to-refresh
3) Sortable RSS Feeds
4) iPad 1.0
5) Android version

I'd say my priorities would be just like you rank 'em here. Facebook sharing, Pull-to-refresh, Sortable RSS feeds (so I can use feeds that use future dates as an agenda for the coming months), iPad 1.0 and an Android version.
I suspect Facebook sharing and Pull-to-refresh can be implemented rather easily, as Facebook sharing is already a feature of TapLynx for iPad. For Pull-to-refresh one can use freely available libraries like https://github.com/leah/PullToRefresh or the iOS 6 standard http://www.lextech.com/2012/10/ios-6-pull-to-refresh-tutorial/
Hope you can add those two options soonish.

Have you considered open-sourcing the code? I know you sell the product at the moment but you could sell support instead and having a free/open product could encourage more development which could help sell more Push packages... just a thought.
