Hello TapLynx Community!

We are very close to the release of our iPhone framework version 1.5.
After months of continuous work to debug, we have had very good
feedback from the RC 13 build. We are asking you to please report any
other issues you may be having (from RC 13). Please respond to this
post and let us know about any of your open issues.

We are very excited about this release and thank you for your
feedback!

I have the following open issues.

1. I have push notifications enabled and my Alerts tab is blank. So I
am unable to manage the alerts subscriptions.

2. I have noticed that I am unable to tweet posts that contain youtube
links in them. I have a youtube feed and when I click on the share
button and choose the tweet option. I get an OAuth error. I don't
have this problem with other feeds in my app. I have tried multiple
combinations of tweeting a regular post and then tweet a youtube post
and tweet a regular post. The regular posts work just fine, but the
youtube one reports an error.

3. I noticed sometimes when the app is coming from the background into
the foreground my tab bar at the bottom is blank and losses its
buttons. The only way to fix this is killing the app from the
multitasking bar, i.e. double clicking the home button) and then
killing the app there.

I haven't tested it yet with the latest release, but I have the
following gaps:

1. No Remote NGConfig functionality
2. Currently must have alerts tab to use any push notification
including broadcast (I would like to have no alerts tab)

Hi Mike,

RC 13 resolves both those issues.

Thanks,
Ashley

Great!

Are there instructions on how to use a remote NGConfig?

Once I figure that out, I will test this weekend and let you know if
everything is working.

Thank you very much.

Mike

Excellent - thank you very much.

I will give it a try this weekend, and then I should be ready to
launch the app.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Hello,

Thank you for your patience, our tester found the following issues. I've addressed his findings below:
  1. The Alerts tab appears to be setup incorrectly (double check the documentation for details found under item #3 http://wiki.taplynx.com/wiki/Push_Notifications).
  2. The remote NGConfig file is not correctly configured (see WIKI_PAGE for details http://wiki.taplynx.com/wiki/Beginning_Customization).
  3. Your NGConfig references a non-existent Custom Delegate object.
  4. On our end: youtube bug. We are working on fixing this issue.
We also offer paid support options in which we'll just configure your app for you, package found here https://store2.esellerate.net/store/checkout/CustomLayout.aspx?s=STR2473465846&pc=&page=OnePageCatalog.htm (bottom of page).

Thanks,
Ashley

Dear Ashley,

Thank you for looking into our issues.  Just wanted to give you an update of our progress with RC14.

1. The alerts tab is working.
2. We have addressed the NGConfig file configuration.
3. Our custom delegate in our NGConfig file is working.
4. Will wait to hear on a fix for YouTube sharing to twitter bug.
5. We are shooting for a Feb 28th release.  Do you have a status on a release date for 1.5
6. We do not have any other issues.

Thanks,
Robert

The only thing that does not seem to be working for us is the badge
when we have a push notifications (when are the badges suppose to
appear? With broadcast or pushes from the RSS feeds?).

Also, is there a way to turn on push notifications for certain feeds
without an alerts tab? Right now, broadcast works, but I don't see
pushes when we send new RSS feeds.

Thank you.

I'm building with 1.5 RC14 and we use remote config.

At the moment I have apps out in test with an older remote config than
the one on the server. Generally they pick up and use the later remote
config file but sometimes I notice the app favours the bundled config
over the remote one.

I would imagine that once the app has pulled an updated remote config
it would continue to use that even if it couldn't reach the server but
it seems to drop back to using the earlier embedded version.

Best wishes,

Peter
