With iOS 7 around the corner, all our apps will be looking out of date soon. Any chance we'll see a new TapLynx update that will allow our apps to look at home on the new OS?

Hi Josh,

You bet we plan to support iOS 7, but don't have an ETA at this time. In the meantime, most applications running on the TapLynx frameworks should work on iOS 7.

Let me know if you have any other questions -- we'll certainly email our clients when new arrivals are on the way/have been released.

That doesn't quite answer the question... iOS7 has a very different look and feel and without a refresh of some of the graphic elements, TapLynx apps will look dated.

So as well as just supporting apps running under iOS7, will there be some UI changes to make the apps look consistent with the OS?

Thanks

TapLynx Team, any update on this subject? iOS 7 will be released in less than a week and my TapLynx app sure needs an updated UI.

I agree that a significant update to Taplynx is needed.  It's a great framework and I'd love to use it for another app I'm developing, but we haven't seen a new library in quite a while.  Some tweaks to the UI and bug fixes would great and would restore my confidence that Taplynx is alive and well and moving forward.  It seems kind of eerily quite lately in Taplynx land...

Greetings,

Thanks for getting in touch.

We do not currently have an ETA for an updated version of TapLynx for iOS 7.

We know that many of you are exceptionally proud of your TapLynx apps on the store and for that we are extremely grateful.

As we all welcome the release of iOS 7, several folks have commented on the pace of updates to TapLynx.

In short, the slow pace is because we have invested far more in our work on TapLynx than it has generated in revenues and that is simply not sustainable.

We have worked to provide maintenance and support releases over the past couple years, but it has not been viable for some time to have anyone work on TapLynx full time.

We are pursuing some ideas on how to increase the amount of development effort that goes in to TapLynx, but given the limited returns it has produced, there is no magic solution.

I know many of you obviously want to continue using TapLynx, so one question comes to mind, would you be willing to pay for an iOS 7 upgrade, and if so, how much?

Thanks to everyone for using TapLynx, for your continued interest in it, and for your patience.

Joe

How about a subscription model? Buy a certain number of pushes per month/year to stay current on the software?

Joe, any news on ETA of TapLynx for iOS 7? Apple will be restricting app updates to iOS 7 / Xcode 5 compiled apps soon >

"Starting February 1, new apps and app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with Xcode 5 and iOS 7 SDK"

Meanwhile the Twitter API needs to be updated as well. Twitter-sharing is a no-no now....

At this point I would be happy with a version that built properly in XCode5

Fantastic.  Downloading now.  Good to see an iPad version.  I've had an Taplynx-based Ipad app in the store since it came out in...Dec 2011 was it?...and it is in desperate need of an update.

Also looking forward to those iOS7 updates.  All of this is very encouraging!

Can we have a minor update or just let us know what code to update to get it working. I mean right now my app is working fine except I have a black strip on the bottom. If I can get rid of that strip I'm good to go.
