E BAJA Update

Dear Beloved Alumni,

OUR MIT E-BAJA TEAM:

We are proud to inform you all, our Team (PT SENTINELS) from MIT, Anna University consisting of 22 students from the Department of Production Technology, 2 students from the Department of Electonics andCommunication Engineering and 1 student from the Department of Instrumentation Engineering have been qualified to E-BAJA finals, a National Level All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) competition conducted by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).
We qualified in virtual round for the event that took place in the month of July, 2015 in Chandigarh (result of which has been attached with this mail) and the final event is to be held in the month of February, 2016 in Indore. 
The finals will include testing the endurance of the vehicle by racing in different terrains.

In this regard, our team is seeking sponsorship to complete the design and fabrication of the ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) and participate in the finals. Enclosed below is the details of the Cost Estimation, funds required and Alumni who have helped us till date. 

OUR CURRENT REQUIREMENT:

The Total cost of our ATV (including purchase, fabrication and logistics) has been estimated at  INR 7,50,000. Detailed Cost Estimation and Project plan can be shared and provided if required. 
We would like to seek Assistance on the below mentioned from the Alumni and Corporates

1.   Financial assistance for E kit- To be provided by the Event Hosts .We would need to pay INR 4,50,000 in cash to the event hosts for the E kit that will be integrated with our Vehicle and  includes Motor, Power Train, Accumulator.

2.   Sponsors either in Cash or  for specific parts of the Vehicle like 
a. Suspension,
b. Brakes,
c. Safety kit,
d. Tyres

3.    We have planned to use either Nickel brazing or TIG Welding for our fabrication. Any Alumni or your known contacts who can assist us with providing fabrication facilities in and around Chennai, preferably around MIT it would immensely help us.

UPDATES ON SPONSORS:

We are proud and grateful to share that our beloved senior, an alumnus of the Department of Production Technology, Mr. C Shunmuganathan, Managing Director of Kaliswari Fireworks, has made a grand sponsorship of Rs.2,75,000 to our cause.

Mr. Gokulnathan Sadasivam, Director of Molikule Technologies, who happens to be an alumnus of the Rubber and Plastic Technology Department (1998 batch), has offered to provide us with Rs.24,000 which will be the cost of 2 wheels (Tyre and Rim).

The Finals is to be held on the 10th of February in Indore. We would need to be ready with the fabrication latest by the 10th of January.
We request our beloved seniors to help us in this venture.  Any other assistance apart from the above mentioned is also welcome.
