Thank you, Patty. I just saw a need and an opportunity to create and provide something beneficial, and I really think this site can be a great resource for our community. It does not have to all be political, either. It would be great to see the Lake Pics page grow with many pictures that people submit from around the lake, sharing in the beauty, fun, uniqueness and sense of community that makes Tapawingo such a great place to live!
Something else I was thinking about, and plan to put on the site, is a "virtual" Bulletin Board page. A place where items for sale can be posted, services provided, WTB (Want To Buy) items. I am open to other ideas also. What do others want on the site?
And so, to your point... How do we get more people on the site? I would hope with some of the e-mails that have gone around with people like you, Kim, and Russ giving the site a "thumbs up" would help. I invited quite a list of people initially, and I want to be respectful of decisions about whether or not to actually "join" the site. So, I've tried to provide different ways to join if interested, and helpful information about how to do so. I've added a page to the site (Get Involved!) providing instructions and links. What I don't want to do is spam people and turn them off to the site. People may be visiting the site, and may continue to do so for information, but may not want to become a member.
So, how can we continue to get the word out and encourage people to join? I think word of mouth may be the best approach, and maybe posting something on the physical bulletin boards at each gate.
I appreciate your interest, involvement, and willingness to help "promote" the site. Please keep your questions, suggestions, and feedback coming. Thank you!
