Regards,
Naresh

I originally volunteered to work on this but didn't sense a lot of support so I put it at a very low priority on my personal agenda.  If there are fellow travellers out there please speak up as I personally would be more interested in joining a small team than heading out on my own.  On my own I would probably head in a different direction.

Thanks Kyle.

Here in Brazil we're definitely interested in an android app. I'll look into this solution.

Best,
Christophe

Christophe,

We have started to investigate an Android app, but we just do not have the capacity to get it done at this time. Ideally it will work the same as the iOS app with the ability to have locally stored content or content streamed over the web. There have been talks on this board of others trying to create an Android app, but I have not seen any results yet from those discussions. There is one company that has made an Android app (iWayTours) but I do not have much experience with it.

Subject: android app

Hello

Is there an android app coming up? How is this going?

I wonder if it will work with no data/wifi - ie. only locally stored content.

Best,
Christophe

After working with the TAP code for a little while I was left with the impression that they still had a long way to go before "production quality" code was available and progress was slow due to a limited ecosystem (the team seems to be mostly fixed at one museum IT dept.).  Right now I am more interested in the Providence system.  I also have been following Mukurtu because my daughter (museum curator/archeologist) finds it interesting.  I monitor the TAP list but I never got it fully operational on any of my servers here.  So I guess the answer is no progress from this person.

We currently have quite a few web and iOS apps that are out in the wild. I would say both of those are production ready, the biggest need on those is documentation (which is being worked on)

As for android, we haven't made any progress in that regard. The web app is currently the best option in that regard. We are always looking for others to help in this space.

Hello, I was wondering if there had been any progress made towards an android app in the year+ since this was last discussed?

We have not worked on an Android app and don’t know of any that I would recommend at this point.

Hy,

I’ve something working for android, made with Titanium framework.
You can have a look at http://www.tourguide.io

All the basic functions of tourml under iOS are there : stops and stop groups, audio and video, map…

Don’t hesitate to ask some questions directly to me.

Bye,

Gautier,

Sorry, I forgot about this app, thanks for the reminder. I will add it to the information on the TAP website.
