In April 29th there was a big Uni Festival. The day of the Uni Festival dawned very sunny and beautiful to enjoy, surprisingly days before and after the event it was always raining.
Last yea,r 2011, was the first Uni festival. In 2012 is celebrated for the second time. There was 40 stalls all together, different countries food, live music, talks, Uni Shiatsu....etc
A palestinian man, who lives in Kyoto, gave a talk about the situation in Palestine at this time.
Charity Shiatsu was given to all, mainly in sitting position with ki work after each treatment. Ki work consisted in imagining their lives with a bright future. People were really surprised by the experience.
It was raised all together around 350.000 yens. This profit was divided. Part went to Japan earhtquake and nuclear disaster, the other parts to Palestine and
Bangladesh.
All Kyoto members worked hard to prepare the Festival. This year were more used after the experience of last year and did very professional flyers.
There is a new book published now in Japan, "Ki´s Happiness Power" , that will be translated into english. Also the translation of the book Ki Shin Do, is finishing now.

Tokyo: Hade-san (translate by Mogi)
The Earth Day Tokyo was held the 21,22 of April, it has been running from before 1900 in Tokyo. One Hundred and ten thousand people came to the event this year. Hase-san know the musician who knows the beginning of Earth day Tokyo, he told Hase-san, "Beginning time of Earth Day I played music there but there was very very small", "But if you keep doing this event 10 times it will be really big", so Hase-san understood Rome wasn't build in a day, we start Uni Fes in Tokyo next year, and one by one, each time do the best.
We ask people to put a wish in a small paper with the shape of flower petals, they all write wishes of bright future and happiness for Fukushima and everybody everywhere. after so many wishes they had the walls covered in flowers with wishes from everybody. Lots of people made a wish, ki was lighter with bright future for Fukushima and everybody.
Tokyo members and practitioners noticed that visitors were very different from previous years, maybe their awareness changed after the tsunami. People were feeling unify and together.
During the event they introduced to all visitors, giving flyers, the workshop "Happiness and Buddism" that would take place in two weeks in Tokyo. There was very short notice for them to decide, nevertheless 23 people applied interested. Unfortunately they had to tell three people that they could not attend because the centre can occupy maximun 20 persons.
Before, people were interested only in Tao Shiatsu now are more open and receptive to Ki and Heart, Buddha School and Nembutsu.
Three weeks ago, there was Nembutsu High for the first time, during 3 days. Those for which was the first time, thought that it was going to feel long but on the contrary they felt it was short and they wanted to have it every month afterwards. In Tokyo are trying to do it more often. Will organize next one very soon and keep it going.
Tokyo centre would like to do Uni Festival, next year. There is a nice park near Tokyo Center, ideal for Uni festival. There are couple of Universities near the park and Tao Sangha members get to contact students.
Earth day event in Tokyo. Tent full of wishes for bright future, happiness.. for all.
EUROPE
Austria: Alice
Tao Sangha Vienna, Austria, has been running for twelve years and there is also activity and regular meetings in Vorarlberg and Linz. Alfred is the teacher, giving classes of Tao Shiatsu and other activities in Vienna. There are 12 members, which received entrance transmission, in Austria
In May, Vienna received the visit of Ryokyu San on its way through Europe. There was Nembutsu and Tao Shiatsu workshops. We all had great experiences!!.
Alice, Practitioner and Tao Sangha member, gives us her comments and experiences in this interview:
What can you tell about Tao Sangha in Austria?
I have been participating in Tao Sangha activities for about 10 years. There are many activities such as Kishindo, Ki and Heart, Buddha school and many other projects from the Global Uni Community, so it has been very interesting.
Looking bach I can tell, that studying Tao Shiatsu and Tao Sangha has changed many things in my life, in a very positive way. I feel much more free and decisions are not so difficult any longer. It helps in my profession as a medical doctor, because I can support patients the way I really feel about them, caring and creating an opportunity for development, and I don´t feel heavy or burdened for this- how I used to feel.
How do you feel about Tao Sangha Workshop with Endo Sensei in May?
We spent five extraordinary days. Two days with Nembutsu Samadh chanting, two days Tao Shiatsu and one day Kishindo. Every day was very special and touching. It is great to see how everything is connected with each other and how light and joyful is to give Tao Shiatsu or to do Nembutsu or plan something for Tao Sangha. We laughed a lot and we could share many deep experiences. Endo Sensei transmitted the wisdom of Nembutsu Samadhi and the buddhistic Heart Sutra in various Dharma talks. Until now I feel full of peace, laugh and joy.
Thank you to all the participants from Europe.
Alice at Vienna Centre in one of the classes in May
On wednesdays there is Nembutsu at Vienna Dojo from 7 to 9 pm. You can watch Dharma talks on "
ustream.tv/tao sangha"!!, they are fantastic with Ryokyu Sensei.
In Viena there are growing Tao Shiatsu Classes. There is great appreciation for the activities and projects that are shared through Tao Sangha that enrich the lives of all.
There are GUC activities to support the project in Bangladesh and also families in Austria. In Linz there is a project for young people.
Here are some notes from a report about the Ju-Can project in Linz:
"Giving Shiatsu on the day dedicated to health in our place near Linz is always a great experience. All together doing Uni Shiatsu creates a deep feeling of Unification. Many people asked to receive a treatment. Donations were collected for a local project called Ju-can for young workless people. Men and woman living in special difficult circumstances, without a proper education can receive training there.
With donations from Uni Shiatsu a gardening project was financed. The young people could build their own garden with plants, fruits and vegetables. We were invited to have dinner all together. The dinner was specially prepared by them. After, they showed us the garden. It was such a great pleasure to see how happy they are.
In the picture you can see participants of Ju-can together with Ingrid and Gerlinde with sunflowers.

Italy: Loredana
In May there were two important events in Italy. First, was the presentation of Tao Shiatsu at the Festival Chiarissima, for the second consecutive year and second the opening of the New Centre Tao Shiatsu-Tao Sangha Italia.
Ryokyu San and Mayu San came to Italy at the beginning of the month of May and stay all together for 12 days.
The main purpose of attending the festival was to invite people to the opening of the new centre. Is a 3 day festival. Ryokyu san did some demonstrations of Tao Shiatsu and Ki Shin Do and one of the rooms inside the event was dedicated to giving treatments and practice of short Nembutsu.
The feeling of this three days is that people recognize that is something special and very interesting. The interest in having treatments and participating increased daily. The room was always crowded, they could feel the Ki, while others were not so popular with their therapies in other rooms.
The purpose of meeting people, to give benefit with treatments and that all be surprised and interested was fulfilled at the Festival Chiarissima

Spain: Belén
Belén is in Barcelona, Spain, since 2008. I started with Tao Shiatsu in 2003.
Since I have been living in Spain, after many years in England, have try to keep the spirit up, the practice and the activities of Tao Shiatsu and Tao Sangha. Always certain and clear to keep going, regardless the difficulties.
It is a way to bring a positive change and bright future for all, being really responsible and think that everything is possible.
There is Nembutsu practice and Ki and Heart regularly every week where some people participate. They all feel the bless and the joy of the teaching, every moment.
People are asking for books to read, then I have introduced them "Tao Shiatsu, Life medicine for the XXI century". This book is translated into spanish and the last edition was printed in 2010, then we asked the publisher to reprint a few books for us to sell, we will receive them soon.
On the other hand, I will do the translation into spanish of, "The New Shiatsu Method"
I have been in Vienna to meet the members in Europe and Endo Sensei, also to participate in Nembutsu Samadhi. Since them there has been lots of peace and joy, Ki is very light. It is wonderful to have projects for the present-future to create better opportunities for everybody, and see that we can create the best for all.
Nembutsu practice in Spain
Endo Sensei decided in Italy that in July 2013 there will be an International Convention in Thailand. It is going to be open for families and children with special workshops for them. In the morning there is Tao Shiatsu, in the afternoon Ki shin do and in the evening Nembutsu.
It is a Great Event for everybody!!!!
