DIAL Showcasing the Principles of Digital Development

The Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL) has been the steward of the Principles for Digital Development, a set of nine living guidelines designed to help development practitioners integrate best practices into technology-enabled programs. Eighty-one organizations such as USAID, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, WHO and Catholic Relief Services have endorsed the Digital Principles to date.

 

On October 12, 2017, DIAL will be hosting an event at the Hyatt Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to showcase the Principles for Digital Development and some new resources and tools that DIAL has developed with the community to help others integrate them into their programming.

 

This event will be the first in a series of similar events that will take place in Washington, DC (Thursday, December 7, 2017) and Southeast Asia (Spring 2018). In Dar, discussion will be focused on three of the nine Principles: Design with the User, Understand the Ecosystem, and Be Collaborative. The other six Principles will be addressed at future events.

 

This event is meant to be community-focused, with speakers coming primarily from implementing organizations and stakeholders in East Africa. DIAL is actively seeking partners, speakers and participants for the event from a range of organizations from government, private sector, NGOs, donors and academia.
