Position Title: Sales Assistant – Tourism Industry Location: Tanzania – Arusha

1. About the Opportunity/Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic Sales Assistant to join our growing sales team. Based in our Arusha office, the successful candidate will leverage their extensive network of tour operator relationships and natural sales abilities to drive business growth. This role requires someone with deep knowledge of Arusha's tourism landscape who can build partnerships, generate leads, and convert prospects into loyal clients.

2.1. Duties and Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development:

  • Generate new business leads through existing tour operator relationships and network expansion.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to potential clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with tour operators and travel agents.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets through strategic relationship management.

Relationship Management:

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing tour operator partners in Arusha.
  • Identify and develop new partnerships within the tourism ecosystem.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client retention and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular client visits and relationship-building activities.

Market Intelligence and Reporting:

  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends in the Arusha tourism sector.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis for management.
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics and conversion rates.
  • Gather client feedback to inform service improvements.

2. Qualifications

  • Proven track record in sales, preferably within the tourism or hospitality industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of tour operators and travel agents in the Arusha region.
  • Established network of contacts within Tanzania's tourism sector.
  • Natural sales ability with strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Swahili.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Passionate about travel and tourism with deep understanding of safari experiences.

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years of sales experience in tourism/hospitality industry.
  • Proven ability to exceed sales targets.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
