On behalf of our client in the Hospitality industry we are hiring qualified and well experienced pastry chef to join our client team in Arusha City.

Position Summary Overview:

As a pastry chef you will be responsible to creates, prepares, and presents a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods, such as cakes, cookies, and breads, ensuring they are both delicious and visually appealing. Your responsibilities include developing new recipes, sourcing and managing ingredients, maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety standards, and potentially training junior staff. As pastry chefs you will be expected to spend your time in restaurants, hotel bakeries, and cafes, and we expect strong attention to detail, creativity, and the physical ability to work long hours on you are feet. 

Key Responsibilities:

v  Preparation & Production:

You will be expected to do mixing and shaping doughs, baking cookies, cakes, and pastries, and making chocolates and other sweet confections.

v  Decoration & Presentation:

You will be using advanced techniques like piping, glazing, and decorative work to ensure a beautiful and tasteful presentation of desserts.

v  Recipe Development:

You will be creating new, inventive recipes for various baked goods, including seasonal items, and staying current with food trends.

v  Inventory & Sourcing:

You will be required to monitor stock of ingredients and equipment, ordering new supplies, and selecting high-quality ingredients for recipes.

v  Kitchen Management:

You will be overseeing the pastry section, ensuring it is clean, safe, and well-organized, and adhering to food safety regulations.

v  Customer Interaction:

You will be meeting with clients to design and plan custom desserts for special occasions like weddings.

v  Team Leadership:

You will be supervising and training junior chefs or apprentices in baking techniques and kitchen etiquette.

 Required Skills:

v  Creativity: The ability to design and create visually appealing and innovative desserts.

v  Attention to Detail: Meticulous focus on measurements, techniques, and presentation.

v  Baking Expertise: A thorough understanding of various baking processes, techniques, and flavor combinations.

v  Organizational Skills: The ability to manage time effectively and organize kitchen operations.

v  Physical Stamina: The capacity to work long hours standing for most of the job.

v  Culinary Training: Should have been admitted in recognized culinary school in Tanzania
