Position: Assistant Food & Beverage

Location: Dar es Salaam
Job Summary:
The Assistant Food & Beverage supports the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Food & Beverage Department. The role ensures high standards of service, efficient operations, staff supervision, and guest satisfaction in line with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent implementation of service standards across all outlets
- Conduct regular operational checks to maintain quality and efficiency
- Assist in preparing duty rosters and managing staff rotation
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
- Address staff disciplinary issues in line with company policy
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment and facilities
- Oversee opening and closing procedures of the outlet
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow
- Review daily sales reports and identify trends or discrepancies
- Assist in planning and executing special events, banquets, or promotions
- Ensure proper guest seating arrangements during peak hours
- Maintain strong guest relations and handle VIP guests when required
- Support cost control by reducing wastage and monitoring portion control
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Participate in management meetings and provide operational updates
- Ensure uniform and grooming standards are maintained by all staff
- Handle emergency situations and make quick operational decisions when needed
- Promote teamwork and a positive working environment among staff
- Assist in implementing company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications:
- Diploma /Degree in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service, or related field (preferred)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a F&B Assistant in a hospitality or customer service setting (preferred).
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- English proficiency is required; additional languages are an asset in a multicultural environment.
