Draftsight 2018 sp3 cannot activate please help I have the problem about activate since Draftsight 2017 so I have to go back using Draftsight 2016 sp2 and hot fix and activation process is working fine every time I enter the information but the latest update build of windows 10 I cannot use Draftsight 2016 sp2 and hot fix anymore so I have to install latest Draftsight 2018 sp3 from -services/draftsight-cad-software/ after I open the program it ask me to migrate from old version and send me to register page and every time I enter information it blink and program is close it-self with no message that said that e-mail was send, I have try all 4 e-mail address that I have without success, I also try all the method mention here including add 3ds.com to trusted website, registry tweak, turn off firewall before activation it give me the same problem every time. my spec is:
ASUS S410U
core i5-8250u
ram: 8gb
SSD: 256GB
windows 10 single language version 1809
please help with the activation process
I am having same problem in starting Draftsight. I started using it several years ago, but the trouble started when my laptop was stolen from my vehicle. In desperation I have searched for substitute software. Among others I located and loaded babacad. WARNING. All my dwg file have now been re-tagged as BabaCAD.Documents and the other programmes that I have that read`dwg file are now having trouble reading them.
Hello. I have a simillar issue. I install 2018 SP2 (or 1 it does not matter which) and can go through the activation process fine and start the software once. Once I have closed the software and I try to restart it the draftsight start-up windows pops-up and then the software seems to start but direclty shuts down. Once I restart it it will take me to the registration window once again. If i run the activation everything will work but the software will not start. If I clean the registry then it works once again en then bugs again. Any help welcome. BTW= Windows 10 Pro 64
I had the same problem on a dual boot system, the program was automatically installing on C drive instead of D so had to fix it in the registry.

PERFECT! It works. I kept getting the activation message after every restart, even though i activated Draftsight twice. After activation, it would work, but after a computer restart, it would ask again for activation.
Anyone still having issue in activating DraftSight, add website of to the trusted websites. And then try activating DraftSight again. This is suggested by Thomas Jansen hre: -754922 and it had worked for him.

Thanks for all the good advice. I had the activation problem and after adding Solidworks to the trusted sites list was able to complete the activation form. I did not receive the code to the email address I used (I had used it on a previous registration), but did receive it when I used an alternative email address.
Finely frustration is over after trying for two weeks to reactivate. Once I added to trusted sites per instructions I got the activation email and now I can use the program again.
My company recently updated my computer and after re-downloading Draftsight I needed to activate but never got that email. Deepak you are a life saver with this info. Million thanks!
same problem for me. followed the SWActivation steps, then installed the hotfix. though this is my first time installing DraftSight, the hotfix states there are no files to alter and did nothing.
Any advice for a first time user?
While activation it was possible to enter proxy settings into the wizard, but at starting the program after activation the proxy settings were lost and could not be set (the part where DraftSight tries to verify your activation).
There is a small bug in Draftsight. I installed it (with admin rights) on WIN 10 PRO (domain computer) and user cant use it without admin rights because he cant activate it. On admin rights it doesnt ask again for registering.

In fact, I was registered but at the end of 12-13 month period you have to confirm your registration. Which I did, but the system continued to ask my particulars. I had chatted with DS technical support, they knew about the issue but did not know how to solve it, you are better than them !

Funciona perfecto, ahora ya dejaba hacer el registro bien y el programa me mando el email de activacion cosa que no hacia antes, ahora esta super super genial, realmente resuelve todos los problemas de activacin es necesario solo poner el email y queda todo perfecto. After trying EVERYTHING I found the way:
Just disable Windows Firewall to do the activation process.
After that, you can use DS normally and set the Firewaal on.
(I also allowed DS to jump the Firewall manually)
What worked for me after a lot of trouble: take uit the LAN cable, and connect the computer via WLAN. find proxyserverconfig.xml and erase (or rename) it. Now open Draftsight, fill in the form. You will get the message that a mail has been send and you should click to activate. After some minutes, the mail will come, click and settles for a year again. Pffft It has to do with proxyservers. I believe when you install DraftSight it asks for admin rights and it then asks you to register whilst using the elevated permissions so when you restart and use it as a normal user the registration details are in the appdata for the elevated user not the non admin user.
I am having an issue where every time that I open draftsight it asks me to activate and I have entered a few different email address and I have never gotten an email back to activate it! I had our company IT guy install draftsight for as we also use solidworks, but I still get the activation screen! How do I get rid of the activation window?
Dennis can you please try this: Go to C:\Documents and setting\barno\application\data\DraftSight\1.2.156\UI\english and cut paste the application.xml and application.bak to a different location. Now load/start the DraftSight and check.

It allows me to open the older files but some commands are not working like i cant select the objects via selecting window. stretch command is not working either cause of that. instead of stretch it move things.
Hello, I have this issue as well.
Everytime I open Draftsight I am asked to Activate. After filling in the details and hitting the activate button no email is sent. I have tried various email accounts, spam filters are not the issue.
My Draftsight install is on a clean install of Window 7 Home Premium x64. I am not the local administrator as this is not an option on a non Professional Windows Licence, I have administrator access however.
I have searched everywhere for an answer, other people have posed this question from as far back as early 2011. There are no satisfactory answers. Reinstallation after renaming SwActivation reg key does not work.
This is quite a flaw to go unaddressed as it makes Draftsight a chore. Will uninstall the program shortly if not resolved.
