DrRitin Mathews is an R&D Associate in the Advanced Machining and Machine Tools Research Group at Oak Ridge National Lab. Ritin specializes in computational modeling of manufacturing operations, elucidating the generation and influence of residual stresses and distortions during conventional and emerging techniques.

Ritin moved to the US in 2017 after completing bachelors in mechanical engineering from Kerala University. He worked in New York for two years in the HVAC industry before moving to Dallas, joining the masters in mechanical engineering program at the University of Texas at Dallas. Halfway through, he converted to the mechanical engineering Ph.D. program, working under Dr. Arif Malik. He defended his Ph.D. dissertation, titled "Residual stress and distortion in machined and additively manufactured metallic components", in July 2022. Following that, in November 2022 he joined the Intelligent Machine Tools group at the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at ORNL as a postdoctoral research associate.
