Wedding Update(s)

Hello Tanisha's Girls! :)

I wanted to let you know that as of now, this is roughly what the wedding weekend will be looking like:

• I will be arriving at The Sagamore (our venue) with family on Thursday/August 29 and probably get my bridal mehndi done that evening at the hotel
  
• Friday/August 30th there will be haldi, mehndi, and sangeet from late afternoon/early evening into the night
• Saturday/August 31 will be the baraat, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception

Since The Sagamore is expensive to stay at, we have spoken to a few hotels around the Lake George area to accommodate guests.  As of now, we have rates locked in with The Wingate, Super 8, and Hampton Inn & Suites and you can book and get those rates by mentioning Govil/Ducharme wedding when you call to book.  I just want you girls to start thinking about your travel plans because since this is a long weekend and the peak of their tourist season, rooms will be gone fast and there is no guarantee any rooms will be available if you wait long to book.

Hampton Inn & Suites:

• Only 10 suites left as of right now in the whole hotel; they are blocking these 10 rooms for us until July 30 at the rate below
  
• Rate is $144/night for 2 people; for each additional person it is an extra $10
• Each suite includes 2 queen beds, 1 sofabed, and the rate includes breakfast each day
• So if 6 of you wanted to share one suite, it would just be $30/night for each you which is great!

The Wingate by Windham

• They do not block rooms so there is no guarantee any will be open if you wait too long to book; they are only locking in a group rate for us
  
• $186/night for king, $195 for double queen; for each additional person over two it is an extra $10
• Rate includes breakfast each day
  
• So if 4 of you wanted to share a double queen room, it would be $53.75/night for each of you!

Super 8

• They have 10 rooms blocked for us
• Rates are $103.20/night for a standard or $111.20 for queen; includes breakfast and can have a max of 5 people per room.
  

Please note that there is a 2-night minimum at the first two hotels (which hopefully won't be an issue for any of you since you need to stay 2 nights anyway).  Since I will be there from Thursday for 3 nights, if any of you want to or are able to come for an extra night, we can spend some quality time together Thursday night while I get my 6-hour bridal mehndi done :) I would welcome any entertainment from any of you during that! 

I will keep you girls updated if we have any other hotel options and also regarding anything else which may come up.  Thanks!

Hi friends!

All of the hotel options are now available on the website, so please look there and start planning accordingly.  Also, I created a "Wedding Party" page on the website to include you girls there, so check it out :) www.weddingwire.com/philippeandtanisha.  Hopefully you guys are OK with what I put there for each of you!

Also, a couple of you have asked me about bridesmaids clothing and what I want you to wear.  Honestly I am not there yet, but I think I will pick a color for you girls to pick your clothing in.  That way you can wear whatever you want and just be within that color family.  I am thinking either yellow/orange or green, but it's still TBD! I am hoping I will have my outfit for the day picked out soon so that I can pick a color to complement it, so stay tuned!

Hey ladies,

 

We are going to try and book one room at The Sagamore for you girls so that at least some of you can be with me at the venue :) Technically the room can hold 4, but I'm sure a couple more can squeeze in (secretly, of course!).  I know some of you will be with boyfriends so you would probably get your own rooms at one of the other hotels.  Also, The Sagamore rooms have a 3-night minimum so is anyone planning on coming in on Thursday?  Bijal, i think you said you would.

 

If you can tell me who is coming on Thursday and also who is NOT sharing a room with a boy, we can determine which ones of you can share the Sagamore room :) 

 

And of course...we will pay for the room for you, so you don't have to worry about the cost of it.

 

ALSO- for those of you sharing other rooms not at the venue, please book your rooms ASAP since they are starting to fill up.  Thanks!

Hey all,

I got my wedding outfits this weekend!! And as my bridesmaids, I would like you girls to wear GREEN!  My wedding ceremony outfit is bright pink and gold with sea foam green and coral.  So I think green would look nice :) I don't want to be too specific with which shade of green, so any in that color family would work!  Let me know if you have any questions...

Hey girls!  You don't need to wear a specific thing such as sari/lehnga/etc., anything in any green will do :)  If you decide to change for the reception you can wear any color you want.  Since we will be having bridesmaids pictures taken prior to the wedding ceremony (that morning) and you will of course be walking down the aisle before me, that's why you have to wear the color for that :)

I have attached the pictures of my main outfits...the colors didn't come out good for my ceremony outfit though.  The pink in it is actually a bright pink...this picture looks more orangish.  Also that's not the embroidery on it, but these will be the colors on mine :)

As for live updates, I'll be studying for finals, but I would love to take a break to chat with everyone next week!

A few questions regarding accommodations for the wedding:

1)  What is the closest (main) airport?  I will likely be driving from Boston, but just in case I decide to fly...

2)  Does anyone still want to share a room?  My boyfriend Varun will be coming too, but we're super non-PDA so I promise it wouldn't be awkward!

3)  When are most people getting there?  As of right now, I am planning to arrive Friday afternoon / early evening and leave on Sunday.

Closest airport is Albany...but it is around 45 minutes away from there.  Just a warning! Also, if you can, try and come on Thursday IF you can :)

Hey all, 

Can you please tell me ASAP if you know if you will (or will not) be there Friday morning?  We are going to be having our ring ceremony during lunch that day on the boat (12pm - 2pm).  The boat has a limit of 60-75 people so we are keeping this PRIVATE.  We are making our list of who to invite to this, and of course you are all on my list.  But if some of you already know you won't be there, I can remove your name from the list.

So far I have that Aneeqa and Anisha will NOT be there on time for this.  Anyone else?  Please let me know as soon as possible!!
