I bought this ***** called Galaxy Watch 4, because I thought if it has android then my regular apps will work on it. Just to realize that basically a 30 EUR Chinese noname fitness band gives you more than this useless pieces of *****. Because the 30 EUR chinese noname fitness band usually shows your notifications from Facebook messenger, Signal, Instagram, but this sophisticated piece of Samsung technology is apparently incapable of doing that.
Does someone have any idea if there is any way to get your Facebook messenger or Signal notifications on it? Or I will return it and get the 30 EUR Chinese fitness band, because that seems smarter than this thing.
Still I cannot pickup calls from FB Messengers, or Signal. Only Whatsapp calls can be picked up through the watch. If the notification arrives in time, but usually there is a delay of 5-10 minutes. Despite of the fact that my galaxy wearable app is on all the time and ate up 10 percent of the battery of my S21 ultra.
If yours is anything like mine the notifications did not come whilst wearing the watch but when you removed the watch the notifications all arrived.... So now my watch is in the service center either being fixed or replaced...
My Galaxy Watch 4 "Classic" has worked out of the box with FBmessenger. Even the messenger calls. My wife's Galaxy Watch 4 has not worked even after the options were selected. Would it have something to do with mine being the large Classic version?
Hi,
Unfortunatelly I updated my Galaxy Watch to the new Tizen 5.5 SW. Since then the Facebook Messenger messages are now in a bubble with white background and black font color on the watch. This is awful!!!! My eyes are not perfect and I can't read the messages well... Is there any way to change this setting back to the original layout where background is black and font color is white and no any bubbles??
I hate Samsung updates, they always ruins something that was good and worked properly...
Please help!!
I switched back to Samsung to get better compatibility with my Galaxy S10e. But I really don't like this purple theme of messenger. The color is just really ugly. Because of this I think I will use the grey-scale mode, and if I won't like that than I will send this watch back and switch back to Huawei. It may sound like I'm too picky, but this purple really frustrates me so bad I might get rid of the watch because of it.
Hi - I have just got my Galaxy Watch 3, bluetooth version, and I have a setup problem. Although I can get it to notify me of a Messenger message, it tells me to open the message on my phone - it won't let me read the message on the watch. Help! WhatsApp seems to work fine, I can read messages and reply to them. I have set both Facebook and Messenger to send notifications to the watch in the Wearable app on my phone - what else do I need to do?
Having the same issue but in my case I used to be able to reply from my active 2 watch but that ability has vanished with the only option to open on phone. Like yourself, WhatsApp and text messages work fine but FB messenger I now can't even see the message let alone reply any more. Have tried to speak to live help but they're always busy.
I am having the same issue. Hoping for an update that fixes it soon. I haven't tested yet...but maybe shutting off messanger notifications temporarily will help for now. You won't see facebook messages on your phone though. :(
Thanks, you saved me time and frustration trying to find where to turn this off. Messenger is worthless on the watch anyway, wouldn't even use it except for video chatting with my elderly mom's facebook portal.
Hi! My Fitbit versa device can't receive call from Facebook messenger app though it can receive text messages and missed call notification from messenger app. But my husband's ionic can receive call from both phn and Facebook messenger app simultaneously. Is the versa is not capable of receiving call from Facebook messenger app or it's only my versa device problem?
@Mumtahena, first of all, I sincerely apologize for the delay in the response. I appreciate you have provided many details about this situation and for letting us know you have already tried to troubleshoot this issue on your side. At this moment, I would like to ask you to please try the following:
Versa OS is firmware version 32.33.1.30. Messenger notification on in Fitbit app. That's why versa can receive messenger's text messages and missed call notification but can't receive ongoing call . After the call has ended it just shows the missed call notification.
I have Samsung note 8 with android version 8 which I believe to be latest. In Fitbit app notification setting there is only one option for call and that is phone call whether for text message notification there are 2 option . One is phn message and the other is for messenger. In my Fitbit app phn message is primary text messaging app. On app notification in Fitbit app messenger app is ticked on. Let me know is there anything that I am doing wrong.
Yes messenger calls shows up on the phone screen while phone screen is locked. I have checked phone notifications too. I do not understand what you mean by 3 option for call in android phn. In which setting I should check for this.
I have checked all notification setting in my phone apps and also in Fitbit app. So , what is wrong that incoming call in facebook messenger app is not showing on versa while it can receive missed call and messages notification from the same app.
Hello @MarcoGFitbit thank you for your reply. I contacted Fitbit customer service regarding this issue and they told me that unlike ionic, versa is not capable of receiving Facebook messenger app call but it can receive message notification from messenger app. Is there any one using versa can assure me about this issue. My question is versa capable of receiving messenger app call
I have not received any notifications on my versa since I had it in airplane mode when flying last week. I have done the solution that you posted but I'm still not receiving notifications. Any other suggestions?
Check notification setting on versa watch . Press left button for few second scroll down you will find notification setting on watch too. Just check whether it's on or off. Also check notification setting on Fitbit app on your phn. On Fitbit app go to the watch setting > notifications > touch the three dot on upper right > check whether notification is enable/ disable> then press send test call > if the watch is capable of receiving test call then it should be able to receive any notification send from the phn via Fitbit app. If it's not working you can also chat with their customer care directly for trouble shooting. On Fitbit app go to the watch setting > touch 3 dot on upper right > help.
Not supporting Android watches is not fair to the android customers. Not everyone uses or liked Apple. And not having anyone on visible chat know when or if android watches will ever be supported is not nice. Not an option to switch to Apple watch is brand new 4/21 capability of the cellular on watches and phone is new. I will switch providers before I buy all new devices if something doesn't happen soon with watches for android prople.
I am thinking if they don't provide Android watch support by mid 2022, I will likely switch carriers. With phones getting bigger, I would really love not having to carry phone and just get notifications on watch.
First be pacient. I suspect at some point they will probably support Android watches. As for your point of not giving a time frame. We have no idea of the work that goes into the back end to making these things work on the network. So lets say as an example say they said android watches would be supported in 12 hours or in a day. AGAIN THIS IS EXAMPLE ONLY!!!!! If in 12 hours or a day it isn't supported how many complaints would they have? That is why time frames aren't given.
Not as much demand, multiple android watches to support. Supporting the apple watch first will bring in customers. Probably not worth it to visible to divert respurces to supporting android watches at the moment but we can hope!
Crap! This is concerning as I happily just upgraded from my BT Galaxy Watch 4 to a new Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro/LTE version (hoping) to simply xfer my 2nd hardly used line I have with AT&T from a different Android phone to the watch for an 'add-on' type deal such as it seems T-Mobile for example does for $5 mo. Now during setup of my new Galaxy 5 Pro Watch, it got to the eSimm option/part and quickly errored out complaining my carrier - Visible doesn't support it! Please don't make me port out again
Still unable to find any update from Visible if this is in scope for the near future. I would make sense if they didn't support apple. Maybe they didn't have the pricing or infrastructure figured out... But they clearly do. Apple is not alien technology it would be a very similar process to onboard Android. This was not listed on any of the cons for switching to Visible. Definitely worth shopping elsewhere.
I asked in chat today about this as I ordered a Galaxy Watch 6 classic to replace my old fitbit. The deal I got it was only around $45 more for the LTE version so I went for it. My hope is that they soon will support it as Samsung is popular though not as popular as Apple in the US.
The person responding on Facebook messenger said its no available currently. I urged them to pass it up that I've been a loyal customer of the service with 2 lines and I'm very interested in have the same services as Apple devices. They said it might happen in the future. Until then I will be still able to use the BT and wifi on the Watch.
