This Saturday I will be teaching a one off introduction to show and
demonstration tango. For many of us we are cajoled by our non-tango
friends to show them what it is we do. Some little preparation for
this event can make it a good experience for all. Some people have
also asked to learn something more about the apparent flash and dash
of show tango and I will lead into how this comes about by expansion
of the cuddly social tango we nearly all love.
The workshop will run for 2 hours! yes a solid workout - so bring
comfortable, cool, unrestrictive, and modest clothes. You can stay
with the same partner if you want. It is usually best to swap around
so that you understand more aspects of the movements. I am only
charging $20 for this workshop to encourage participation and because
I haven't danced or taught show tango for a few years now.
Anyway, it promises to be something a bit different at least.

Private Lesson spots are starting to fill out and so if you had
thought you fancy a private lesson from them then contact Matthew on
027 48 TANGO.
They arrive from Christchurch on April 30 and depart for Auckland on
May 9 so we have a great oportunity to get to know them and suck their
brains dry... I mean learn many things about tango from them while
they are here...
They will start and end with teaching a workshop at 7 before Ricardo's
milonga on Wednesdays 1 and 8 May, teach 2 workshops each of Saturday
and Sunday from 1 and take the lesson at 7 on Monday. -at least!

Joaquín Amenábar coming to Christchurch
12th & 13th October 2013
Internationally acclaimed bandoneón player and tango musicality
teacher, Joaquín Amenábar, contacted us recently suggesting a visit to
Christchurch in October. He will only be here for a few days and will
not be available anywhere else in NZ. As this is such a rare
opportunity for Christchurch we have confirmed his visit and agreed to
support and host him.

2014 Easter Tango Retreat
The impromptu Easter Tango Retreat was very successful especially so
as we had only two weeks of marketing, so…we've decided to do it
again!
Easter in 2014 is 18-21 April and Nina's Saturday night milonga is
already booked.
There will be monthly reminders sent out from October 2013 to
encourage people from around the country to get in early and book
cheap flights and accommodation for a great weekend of dancing in the
Coolest Little Capital in the World.
No workshops, no demos, just dancing.
There's no registration required, just show up and dance! The Facebook
page and tango calendar will be updated with any additional events. At
present the events list is:
