Dear friends,

Time to book for Byron!! Happy dancing this next week…

From Conrad:

Announcing the return of a favourite tango event!

Byron Bay Tango Festival   2 – 4 September 2022

What should you purchase?

1. Want only dance events? Purchase a White Pass ($150)

2. Add two (2) workshops with a Blue Pass ($210)

3. Or add Immersion classes + guided practica with a Red pass ($300)

4. Take the bloomin' lot for $350 ( Red + Blue)

What you get for your money:

1. Outstanding international teachers and inspirational performers. Don't take my word - search YouTube for CAROLINA GIANNINI & LEO DI COCCO. You won't see this standard elsewhere in OZ or NZ in 2022.

2. Eight milongas - five daytime informal milongas (one features Neotango) and three night milongas (midnight ending) with live music and performance (Saturday)

3. An exceptional collection of tango DJs - lots of them! DJ Stephan (Auckland), DJ Alex (Syd), Mona (Syd), NeoDJ Esther (Byron), DJ Han (Bris), DJ Wendy (Bris).

4.  The seriously good, totally danceable sound of The Mendoza Quartet + Friends+ Solange Lipcin (vocals). And if you are into Piazzolla, go to their "Best of Piazzolla" concert. All past concerts have earned them standing ovations!

5. It all happens in the incomparably beautiful Byron Bay.

From Cath:

I have just transferred $7,600 from the last 6 months of Sunshine Coast Milongas and Festival to Para Los Niños. This charity helps and supports underprivileged children in Argentina. You will be pleased to know they will now be able to commence the building of the library and new accommodation to house a further 8 students. Lorena Gomez has many children on her waiting list.  The school has been very successful with the first group going back to their own communities to help others with the knowledge they were lucky enough to receive. I thought you would like to know how much your support is appreciated. Thank you!

From Cath:

Reminder: Next weekend (23-24 July) is the Sunshine Coast Neo Tango Festival with teachers and DJs Ron Fenton and Esther Zellweger. Esther has just returned from Europe where she was hired as DJ by two major Neo Tango Festivals. The LA_COPA_LOCA NEO TANGO MARATHON in Basel Switzerland and the NEO TANGO RAVE in Bremen, Germany. So, the music is going to be great. The weekend program in on the website where you can find all the information and follow the directions for booking.

Due to the importance of balanced classes, we ask you to sign up for classes with a dance partner. If you would like to take the classes but don't have a dance partner, please join the private Facebook group Tango match up for MTWF and find each other 😊

Donations to support the Brisbane Tango Orchestra: MT Inc have started a project on the Australian Cultural Fund to assist with the creation of the BTO and bring them to MTWF.  They are young, motivated, and need all our help to give us what we have always wanted: ongoing live music, cultural diversity, great sound, amazing memories, long nights of dancing with our friends. Ultimately, this is your chance to make a statement about culture and lifestyle in Brisbane. Oh yes, and don’t forget donations are tax deductible!
