Hola amigos,

Hmmm, well with COVID about us again, a potentially great dance week has had a big dent put in it!

Events that are not listed as cancelled below may not be on, so an edition of TNN containing further cancellations, if needed, will appear on Friday. Alternatively keep an eye on the TangoNut Calendar for changes as they come through to me.

From Cecilia:

Tango meets Jazz: the event on Thursday 15 July has been cancelled; we hope you understand and enjoy some of the other events the Brisbane Jazz Club has to offer throughout the week.

The following dates are pencilled in for Tango meets Jazz at the Brisbane Jazz Club: August 12th, September 9th, October 14th, November11th with a December date being determined.

  • Anatomy of Dance: Stability Workshop - Thursday 8 July 2021
    By: Patrick Shwaluk, Sports Chiropractor

Functional Movement Screens of over 40 southeast Queensland tango dancers revealed that stability was the number one weakness affecting their dance-ability. This workshop focuses on the stability, strength and the ballistic power required to execute coladas, volcadas, back sacadas, enrosques and everything in between.

Key concepts:

1. Static short foot/short toe stability with progressions to essential dynamic movement patterns.

2. Floor to standing rolling patterns for maximum disassociation with stability and power.

3. The 6 position carries to integrate foot and core stability.

Unlock your tango potential and become a more stable/stronger tango dancer

Lecture / Workshop:  July 1st, 7:30-9:30PM

Venue: 10 Love, St Spring Hill

Cost: $15

Bookings: eta...@live.com    numbers are limited.

Be prepared to take your shoes off and roll on the floor. Bring two yoga mats if you have them.
