SoI see stuff about Dark Sector is that, Dark Sector is this... DE said that Warframe and Dark Sector is connected but I can't seem to find out how so? Would you guys mind doing a bit of clarification?

DE made dark sector... It was mutated into a meh game by publishers of the time though because of Call of Duty and other popular shooters. The old dark sector trailer Hayden Tenno looks almost exactly like Excalibur, there's the Glaive being in both games. Hayden Tenno being the main character for Dark Sector and us being called Tenno....

It hasn't been really defined in the lore. The only comparisons drawn are the fact that Hayden Tenno is noted as the first Tenno (which is also the reason why Excalibur is the setpiece warframe as Hayden's armor was stylistically similar) and that the Warframe technology was preceded by the Technocyte virus. It is also worth noting that Mezner, the villain in Dark Sector has a helm similar to a Nyx.

The real reason there is a connection is because, and this is by paraphrase not verbatim, Warframe was what the developers of Dark Sector were pushing for but could not reach due to the technology (and possibly time constraints/budget) of that time period. Either that or they wanted to expand on the Dark Sector universe and created this game. I might totally be wrong in this second paragraph so take it how you may.

So they changed things up to appeal to publishers or whatever, and in the end you have one game full of another games ideas, then what should have been the "original" comes out and is set in the future(when compared to the one before) it is a "sequel".

It's not the same weapon per say if you're talking about models, simply because the Dark Sector version looks aesthetically different than Hayden Tenno's glaive. In terms of gameplay, I wouldn't personally know whether it handled similarly.

In Dark Sector you were given the ability to control the Glaive in mid-flight as well as add elemental effects to it by throwing it at an environmental hazard like an open flame or a malfunctioning breaker.

I remember a previous thread, and since I wanted a cheap, ultralight wind/rain layer, I ordered a Tyvek suit from Amazon for less than $8 (first picture). Thing is, I look like the Michelin Man or the Pillsbury Doughboy in it and took quite a ribbing the first time I used it camping. Plus, that ultrawhite Tyvek material shows every bit of dirt or stain.

So I got some black Rit dye, Kiwi leather dye, and some acrylic ink. Per the previous thread, the Rit dye barely did anything (second picture), and the suit came out a very light gray. So I tried the leather dye, and it worked OK for a darker gray (top part of the third picture). But the acrylic ink worked best of all, and came out nearly black (bottom part of third picture). Plus, it is much easier to brush on than blotting on the leather dye with the little sponge applicator on the bottle. The acrylic ink is $8 for a 5 oz bottle from Amazon.

Hopefully this is not all old news, but I wanted to share it in case it's not. $16 for a windproof, waterproof, breathable, ultralight, head-to-toe rain suit. Haven't decided yet whether I will keep the booties on and wear them inside my shoes, or cut them off.

Also, I suspect that diluted acrylic hobby paint (the type used for painting pictures) would also work like the acrylic ink, and it can be bought in any local Michael's/Jo-Ann's, etc.. Diluted hobby paint is permanent on most wool, cotton, and poly fabrics.

William, did you try washing the tyvek suit? It would be interesting to know if the color survived and whether it reduced or eliminated the color rubbing off. I'm planning to hand-wash mine when I'm done coloring it, to see how colorfast it is and to hopefully eliminate the rub-off issue.

I should have specified I was playing with homewrap, not one of the suits. I did not wash it in a washing machine, but I soaked it in water and used wet paper towels to intentionally try to scrub off the color. The first couple of times I tried, moderate amount of bleeding of the color was evident. But afterwards the tyvek still held color and only very small amounts of color bleeding was evident.

Unfortunately the water resistance of soft tyvek is about 50 inches compared to normal Gortex with hydrostatic head of 1100 inches. There are many different types of tyvek and lots of good (yet confusing) info in the old posts.

It's also available in other colors: Dioxazine Purple, Naphthol Crimson, Phthalocyanine Green, Prussian Blue, Burnt Umber, Raw Umber, and yellow/medium azo. And they can be mixed to get particular shades or hues. I may try making a camo suit next.

I wanted to have a black suit, and haven't been able to find that color ready-made. Although I am thinking now that my black may have turned out blacker if I had started with a blue suit. I'm also guessing that the colored "Tychem" suits may be more water resistant, since they are advertised as having "splash resistance".

The Liquitex ink is advertised as permanent and water-resitant, but we'll see how that goes. I plan to give the suit a wash in cold water on gentle cycle with a swatch of white cotton in the load, to see how much ink washes and bleeds out, before I apply the silicone. Then after the silicone is applied I will give it the shower test wearing a white tee shirt, and see what happens.

The SA-X (named by Adam and presumably short for Samus Aran-X) was the main antagonist of Metroid Fusion and the eleventh boss Samus faces on the Biologic Space Laboratories research station. It is an X Parasite mimicking Samus Aran and her Power Suit.

The SA-X is an X Parasite mimicking Samus. After Samus's first encounter with the X on SR388, her Power Suit was infected by the parasites released from an infected Hornoad she had killed. The Galactic Federation surgically removed infected portions of her suit and sent the pieces to the Biologic Space Laboratories research station's Quarantine Bay. Once there, the X inside the infected suit parts seemingly combined and transformed into a copy of Samus in her standard Varia Suit (it should be noted in SA-X's first closeup its eyes appear to be white, with no visible pupils). The SA-X used a Power Bomb to escape the Quarantine Bay, breaching the capsules containing X-infected specimens from SR388, and started the mass infestation.[1]

Owing to it having copied Samus's Varia Suit, and to a lesser extent DNA from Samus herself, the SA-X is a near-perfect duplicate of Samus Aran herself. The only noticeable difference between the SA-X and the actual Samus is that the SA-X has blank eyes behind the visor. Its depiction in the prologue of Metroid Dread shows that it has hair like Samus, suggesting it may have had an unseen human form under its armor.

From its escape, the SA-X roamed the station, occasionally crossing paths with Samus and attacking her on sight. As it had the use of the Ice Beam, Samus Aran originally stood no chance against it due to the Metroid vaccine leaving her with the Metroids' only weakness: an extreme vulnerability to cold.[2] Thus, whenever Samus encountered the SA-X, she would have to hide or run from it to progress.

The copy was first seen when Samus was traveling to Sector 1 (SRX) to try and stop the X infestation from spreading. As Samus descended in the Main Elevator, the SA-X blew up a wall of the elevator room, walked into the room, and paused for a few moments; it is here that a close-up of its face could be seen. The SA-X then jumped over the elevator shaft, destroyed the room's hatch with a Super Missile, and left the room through the destroyed hatchway. When Samus reaches Sector 1, the computer informs her that an "unknown agent" had severely damaged the Main Elevator and disabled it for the time being.

Upon Samus's arrival in Sector 2 (TRO), the computer briefed her about the SA-X, informing her that it disabled the Main Elevator, told her about its abilities and to avoid it at all costs. A gray-toned flashback to the visual of the SA-X's eyes also briefly appears when ADAM revealed the identity of the culprit. The second encounter occurred shortly afterward, which was after Samus downloaded the Bomb data. As soon as Samus left the Data Room, an explosion shook the surrounding area, immediately after which the SA-X's footsteps could be heard fading away into the distance. When Samus dropped down to the lower part of the room, she discovered that the hatch she had come through had been badly damaged and rendered totally inoperable.

Samus's first physical encounter with the SA-X also occurred in Sector 2, shortly after the defeat of Zazabi. Attempting to return to the Navigation Room, Samus discovered another damaged and completely impassable hatchway. Using her Bombs, she was able to open a hole in the floor nearby and dropped into a room with two sections. The SA-X was in the bottom section, but it soon left the room. After leaving Sector 2, Samus wondered whether the SA-X was actually a mindless creature or not.

The next encounter, this time in Sector 6 (NOC), occurred when Samus discovered a wall of Power Bomb Blocks that she could not pass, as she had not yet recovered her Power Bombs. The SA-X entered the room almost immediately afterward, forcing Samus to hide in a passageway under the floor; after walking to the wall, it then used a Power Bomb of its own to destroy both the wall and a significant portion of the floor. It then jumped down the next area and exited the room.
