Hello. In the older version of KMplayer I had, when I pressed (shift)+(num+) it would increase playback speed by 5%. Now in the newer version when I press these keys it increases playback speed by 25% which is sometimes too much. How can I change settings so that it increases (or decreases) by 5%, not 25%?
Thanks.

The playback speed increment can be changed in the settings of the KMPlayer. To adjust it to 5%, you need to go to "Preferences" or "Options" in the newer version of KMPlayer and look for the playback settings. From there, you can customize the increment or decrement value to 5%.

Yes, you can change the setting for the next/previous file button in The KMPlayer for Windows. To revert back to the original functionality, you will need to access the settings menu of the program. Within the settings, look for options related to playback controls or shortcuts. From there, you should be able to customize the buttons and assign them as next file and previous file buttons instead of the ski buttons.

You can add skins using the database from the developers. There is a page where you can download these skins. The skins are in the .ksf file format. If KMPlayer is installed, double-clicking them will also install the skin, then it's a matter of two clicks to activate them through the Interface.

The error you are experiencing is related to the fact that Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is not installed correctly or has registry errors. This error is often encountered when a user installs KMPlayer and activates Media Album support and it is lacking ActiveX Flash support. The Media Album KMPlayer uses is based on Adobe Flash technology and so it requires this ActiveX in order to run properly. Here is the link where you can download the mentioned component.

Download the package, close all Internet browsers and any 3rd party applications, and perform a new installation. The setup automatically copies the files to its right places. A restart of your computer is recommended for the settings to take effect.

The quality of the video you want to play is directly influenced by the codec used to encode the video file and the renderer available in KMPlayer. To access it, right-click inside the player's window, then go to Options > Preferences (or F2) > Video Processing > Renderer. By default the renderer is set to Enhanced Video Renderer, but I suggest you change it to Haali's Video Renderer and it's best to keep the Video Scaler to Bilinear. You can try decreasing it using the drop down menu, but if you experience playback glitches, switch it back to how it was.

Of course, you can use other processing filters like Sharpen, Soften and Post-Processing. Post-Processing plays a major factor as well, but if you don't know how to use it, simply drag the presets bar until the image looks better.

I have a problem with Farsi and Arabic subtitle. I downloaded the program, changed the font style to the Arabic from Preferences and I also enabled the external subtitles, but still strange characters appear. I have no problem with the subtitle while using another player. How can I fix this?

If you changed the subtitle font to Arabic from Preferences, you need to change the regional setting of Windows. Also, download another subtitle and check if this behavior is still encountered. If you still have problems, check the following forum 1 and forum 2 for additional support.

KMPlayer isn't known as being an application with full support for plug-ins. Yes, it does support plug-ins, but there are few available on the Internet. The most known plug-in is AudioScrobbler and MiniLyrics. AudioScrobbler shows what you're currently viewing or listening to websites like Last.fm.

The KMPlayer is a media player software for Microsoft Windows which can play a large number of formats such as VCD, DVD, AVI, MKV, Ogg, OGM, 3GP, MPEG-1/2/4, WMV, RealMedia, FLV and QuickTime among others. It handles a wide range of subtitles and allows one to capture audio, video, and screenshots.

KMPlayer has a small desktop footprint and its minimalist interface makes video playback quick and hassle-free. The player's interface is fully skinable, and there are some nice aesthetic touches, such as the changing of colour on the player with every new track.

KMPlayer handles both audio and video, and supports a wide range of different formats, meaning that once installed, you should never need to touch another player. Video playback is particularly impressive thanks to the range of processing tools available that allow you to sharpen, change picture properties, apply filters and even make video captures from within the program.

My favorite video player, been using for last two years and puts VLC into a corner. Easier to use and more options. Too bad lots of people don't use this, else there would be more skins. Thanks for the update. :)

I like KMP also because i can access all options with the right click, change shaders, sound options, advanced video options, skin, render, window settings, subtitle options etc -- VLC has some of this options, even if i go to preferences i need to click show all and navigate trough a lot of menus to find what i want, everytime i open preferences i have to do it again, KMP saves those view settings, but they're not needed since i can acess everything with right click (showing advanced options).

The KMPlayer is hands down the best but the primary reason i semi-dumped it for VLC (mostly for x264 720p/1080p files) is because of the 'hardware acceleration of h264' video that's easy to turn on with a simple check box in the options which KMP seems to lack. if it gets this VLC will most likely be dumped and ill be back full time to KMP.

p.s. but is this even a official KMP build? ... because on there official forums i don't even see them talking about it. EDIT: i do see it mentioned (in General Discussions), but it's not listed in the "News & Announcements" section. but from the looks of things the ones mentioned are BETA's not official builds but since the last official release has been over a year i believe it's probably worth a shot to see if we got any hardware acceleration on ATI card etc.)

EDIT #2: as usual the 'hardware acceleration' does not seem to work in KMP. so it's still back to VLC Player for x264 720p/1080p stuff because that the CPU load is around 5-10percent like it should be... just playing a file on KMP it's around 30 percent for 720p so obviously the hardware acceleration is not on in KMP for my Radeon HD 5670 card.

p.s. i am also using the 64bit build of Pot Player. and there was some tweaks i had to do to get it to function like KMP like the aspect ratio seems to get skewed etc by default as it stretches stuff to take up the full screen which messes up proper aspect ratio but that can be tweaked so it functions like normal. and i had to change the 'ESC' key to where even though it instantly minimizes the video to taskbar like KMP does it does not stop playing the file like KMP does but luckily it had a option to make it minimize and pause like KMP does by default when hitting ESC key.

In this post, we will list 10 popular skins for VLC Media Player. Skins change the look of VLC Media Player dramatically and add a bit more spice to the already superb experience. Let us start by discussing the whole process of installing VLC skins.

Now when you open VLC, it will show the look of the skin that you have selected. Using the above relatively straightforward and simple method, you can get a look for VLC Media Player precisely the way you want it.

Main buttons are under the timeline of play screen. There are Cycle 3D Mode, Playlist Editor, Control Box, Filters, Audio Streams, volume control and playback menu. The Control Box is used for brightness, saturation, hue and contrast tuning. If you need to get additional settings, use F2 key to enter the Preferences. You can also change menu theme and standard skin.

KMPlayer has the subtitle editor. You can add to video all known formats of subtitles. If you want to capture video or audio, use right-click button of the mouse and Capture tab. If you want to change a language, right-click on main screen and choose Language tab. To load a file use drag-and-drop or Open file option. You can also open a folder to load several files and playback a stream audio or video. To view a separate video frame, point your mouse cursor on a timeline segment.

If you are looking for versatile and stable player, then KMPlayer will be a good solution. It supports all popular video and audio extensions. Plus, there are a lot of additional options as rotation, capturing, 3D image convertation, color balancing and others.
