Student Web Developer Position Available

Computing & Information Services's Web Development team has an opening
for a student programmer. The starting date is June 1, 1998. Both
undergraduate/graduate students are eligible. The normal workload is 20

hours a week, however, opportunities for additional hours may exist
during the summer term.

Required Skills: The preferred applicant will have strong
HTML/Javascript skills, as well as a basic understanding of relational
database
systems, plus one of the following:

1. Strong graphic design skills. Applicants possessing these skills
will be required to present a portfolio during their interview.

2. Experience with CGI programming on both the Solaris and NT platforms

as well as some experience with Oracle, SQL Net, and PL/SQL.

The CIS Web Development Teams designs, implements, and maintains
web-based administrative applications for the Texas A&M University
System. The candidate selected for this position will be a crucial
member of our team and will be involved in the design/coding of the
following on-going projects:

On-line Application for Admission to Texas A&M University
Research & Graduate Studies Grant Application Submission System

Training in advanced web development will be provided.

You may pick up and application in room 104 of the Teague Building.
Interviews will begin on May 18, 1998 and continue until the position is

filled. Please include a list of websites that you have
implemented/maintained with the application.
