Hi Everyone,  I'm interested in learning Python and building a portfolio of algorithms and web/text mining apps. The Coursera 5-course specialization seems like a good start. Can anyone please suggest all the things to consider as I start on this journey? Thanks

The Coursera specialization is a great place to start, because it covers a little bit of most of the major areas within Python. If your core interest is mining data, consider machine learning and data analysis as other avenues to pursue within the language. The Python Challenge http://www.pythonchallenge.com/ is also a great place to learn while solving different coding challenges.

Good Luck,

Ramece
