2015 Happy New Year! Welcome to another year of Java and Java-related community support from the Tampa Java User Group. This year, we are looking to shake things up a bit and put the group on a path of growth to continue to bring you quality presentations and technology-minded social gatherings. As always, we welcome input and participation from you.
Meet Bob, Your New Leader
Since the group got resurrected in 2005 (10 years ago this year), RJ Salicco and myself have been at the helm. RJ started to scale back his involvement in the last couple years and, unfortunately, I have to do the same given my current schedule.
In an effort to keep the group going strong, Bob Damato (from ValPak) have agreed to step in as lead organizer and I will remain as co-organizer. Bob has presented several times for the group and has been instrumental in sponsoring food and venue for several years now. He's already planned the first meeting for this year and have some interesting topics lined up for the first quarter.
We Are Moving to Meetup.Com
Starting this year, all meeting management and organization will be done via
MeetUp.Com/Tampa-Jug. If you have not done so, we encourage you to sign up on MeetUp. This will be the main point of communication for future meetings and activities. While this mailing list will remain active, we will not use it to post information about upcoming activities and meetings.
