Okay, WMNF's annual Tropical Heatwave music festival is coming up.  This year it will be on May 12th.  For a mere $30 we can rent a booth for the day.

I for one am planning on attending Tropical Heatwave, as there are going to be some amazing acts, and as such, I cannot be physically at the booth for the entire time.  Is there enough interest in the rest of the free skoolers to split the day up into one-hour increments and man the booth?

We could have examples of our classes available at the booth -- some of Cole's pickled/preserved stuff, some of my hoops to play with, some examples of Exquisite Corpses that we've drawn, fliers for past classes as examples (like chioke's mixtape class or feminism class), some samples of trees/plants from my ethnobotany class with a little sheet of typed-up info on the plants, etc etc. 

We have the $30 for the app fee, so no one will even need to fork out the money.  We just need volunteers to man the table for an hour or so at a time.  Takers?

Okay so we have two volunteers so far! 

Booth set up must be done by 4 pm. And the booth has to be closed up/packed away by 2 am.  So this means approx. 11 one-hour timeslots.

I can volunteer two one-hour timeslots.  Roger, can I put you down for 1 one-hour timeslot or would you like to do more?

Anyone else who would like to do this please message me asap!  Once I can verify that we will have enough ppl to have someone present at the booth at all hours, then I will go ahead and fill out the app and get it turned in to WMNF.  The sooner the better.  =)   Will post this on the fb/twitter/website in a sec for all the people who are not on the google groups list but who might be interested.

Roger, that is awesome.  Thank you so much!  

So far we have:

Roger - 3 hr
Mary - 2 hr
Charlene - 1 hr
Grace - 1 hr

We need four more hours filled.  I will send in the application if we can get volunteers for those remaining hours. =)  We don't need to get it done immediately, but in the next couple of days would be good.  That way, booths will for sure still be available to rent out.

Are you going to send out reminders for people and tell them what time slots they're in?

Yeah I am still trying to fill 3 or 4 more hours, everyone!  =)  As soon as I can get all hours accounted for then I will turn in the application and we can determine which people have which time slots.
