I've updated the Meetup for this coming Tues, Jun 25. The topic will be:

To PID or not to PID?

We will be using an FRC robot with separate left and right motors, and separate left and right quadrature encoders as our test platform. The object is to move the robot forward 48", +/- 2" without using a PID controller. For this meeting, we're not concerned with whether the robot turns or not during the forward movement (ideally, it would move straight forward without turning).

The robot is controlled with a PowerPC running at 400 MHz and programmed in Python (as demonstrated in the previous meeting).
