Pyramid Imaging is hiring.

If you are looking or know someone who is looking for a job and have a love for math and technology then please forward your resume, pay history and references to me as soon as possible.

Pyramid Imaging works with companies throughout the country supplying machine vision components and systems in order to advance automation.  We have customers in robotics, manufacturing, entertainment, aerospace and pretty much every industry that exists that uses machine automation in one form or another.  I need to find one or more people who desire to learn the basics of video cameras, lenses, lighting, imaging software, program management and system design.

We also would consider any candidates who have software programming skills in ASP.Net, Visual Basic.Net, C++, or C#.

We are looking for people who have a good educational background in science and mathematics.  Most important to us is that this person has an excellent work ethic, is highly self-motivated and willing to learn.  We will consider all candidates regardless of specific work history.

Pay will be commensurate with work experience and educational background.

We are located in East Tampa near Adamo Dr. and 50th St.  Our hours are generally 8-5 M-F.

Thanks

Rex Lee

Hi Dr. Lee!

I have strong software development skills and have built CNC machines in my garage for a hobby :) Not sure what range of salray your position would be in (as I've only worked in a software capacity) but I would need $120K to beat my current pay and come over and work in Tampa (I'm in Clearwater)
 - is your position anywhere near that range? (sorry to be so forward)

Jamie

Apologies to the group - I thought I was replying to Dr. lee directly (that's what I get for not paying attention!)

Hi Jamie,

Honestly, you are really one of the nicest, most creative and humblest guys I have every run across.  Dr. Lee which I also had the pleasure of meeting, is very nice, intelligent and amiable.  My guess is that Dr. Lee doesn't pay anywhere close to that, its probably only half of that ;-)!  Maybe Dr. Lee could give you a nice bonus with residuals when "YOU TWO" and his team come up with the next SUPER product.  You two would make a great and unstoppable team together.

Best regards to both of you and I hope both you can meet,

Emil

Yeah I figured it doesn't hurt to ask :) just probably shouldn't have broadcast it to the group LOL

Hey, is your RepRap up to snuff?  Just in case we need your help for the FRC 2013 robot we are designing and building.  We are getting together at Dixie Hollins tonight, if you could stop by or perhaps we could invite you to a Google Hangout session, technically you are still one of our mentors.

the reprap had a few set backs at the FLL tournament Saturday (I took it there to let the kids all see it and was printing all day for them)

but I blew a power supply and broke one piece - I have glued the piece enough to be able to print another one, but am waiting on the power supply to come it :) but once it's up and running I'm ready to print whatever you guys need!

Thanks, Emil.  It was also my pleasure in meeting you.  And you were accurate in your assessment. J

BTW,  I am taking off Sunday for Automate 2013 in Chicago.  If you haven’t ever been it might be worth your while some day.  This is a trade show brought forward by three organizations- RIA (Robotic Industry Association), MCA (Machine Control Association) and the AIA (American Imaging Association- of which I am a member).

This is where you get to see a lot of gee whiz robotic development for manufacturing.  I’ll try to send some images from the show.

Only downside is some organizer got a great rate for holding a trade show in Chicago in mud January.  I don’t think it will get above 32 degrees the whole time I am there.  And of course it is the Windy City!

Hi Dr. Lee,

Please share with us.  As you already know, we LOVE robots :-) and all kinds of other technologies.  As soon as our robot for FRC 2013 looks more consolidated, we will share it with you as well.  I had the great pleasure of driving and meetIng Geoff (one of their nice, helpful, and knowledgeable sales executives) through telepresence using Vgo http://www.vgocom.com/ at their New Hampshire corporate headquarters.  I strolled through their cubicles (went into and out of it) and up and down a mock access ramp.  I loved it!

Our robot at FRC 2013 is going to throw frisbees and climb up three levels of a ~10' tall pyramid shaped scaffold'ish type of structure.  This year also I believe we will be doing some visual target acquisition (green led reflected light coming from the reflected tape into a CCD Axis camera with software post filtering).  This will be for aiming and shooting our frisbees.  We got extra big portions of a tall order served on our plate for us to try to implement this year.

Regards,

Emil

Emil,

It does sound like your plate is full but it also sounds like an exciting demonstration.  Best of luck at the competition.
