Dear GIS users,
I am emailing to spread the word about our master program-Master of Applied Science in Geospatial Information Technologies (MAS-GIT) at Delta State University (DSU).
MAS-GIT is a Signature graduate program since 2011. The program is fully online and has multiple start dates a year that offers students flexibility needed for advancing their career without interrupting current work duties. No out-of-state fees are required.
MAS-GIT is designed to meet the needs of students who seek a broad, applied GIT skillset that is applicable towards a variety of professional opportunities through rigorous coursework and hands-on experience. Courses include GIS and applications, remote sensing, image analysis and information extraction, photogrammetry, GIS capstone project, and elective classes including Web GIS, Python programming, GIT applications for environment, GIT for Disaster and Emergency Management.
For students who do not have a prior GIT undergraduate degree and background (Pathway 1), 30 credit hours of coursework is required for the degree. For students with a GIT undergraduate degree or equivalent introductory graduate-level classes or 5 years professional experience in GIT field (Pathway 2), students take 18 credit hours of required core courses and can take the rest 12 hours from our electives or from approved related disciplines (or transfer graduate-level courses).
