                                                                                     சிங்கம் வேர் பொருள் 

சில் > சின் - சிந்து பிந்து - சின்னபின்னமாகு, அழி; சிதர் - பிரிதல். தெலுங்கில் சின்சு என்றால் கிழி, அறு.

இனி,  சின்க > சின்ஹ (க > ஹ) திரிபு. ன் > ம் திரிபு சிம்ஹ ஆகும். அரி என்றால் சிங்கம், அறுத்தல், அழித்தல். ஆக சிங்கம் என்பது சின் என்ற தமிழ் வேரில் இருந்து கிளைத்தது என்று உறுதி ஆகிறது. இக்கால தமிழில் கிழி பொருளில் சின் வேர் சொற்கள் அழிந்து விட்டன. ஆனால் இன்றும் தெலுங்கில் உயிர்த்துள்ளது.
