Thirumurai like thevaaram and thiruvaasagam has shown us different
dimension to Saiva neri. We have to admit that Saiva Neri was the
oldest neri with Dravidians. Ancient temples, Kaveripoompatinam and a
recent stone which is 2500 years old were the proofs to say Tamilnadu
is very ancient. All this shows a rich culture, arts and religion.
Saiva neri was founded by them and later when Buddhuist and Jains were
trying to spread their religion in Tamilnadu, The great Saint
Ganasambandar was born to cut it off from roots. Sambandar infact
revived Saivam, since then other religions has faded away in
Tamilnadu.
Though Saivam is unique of its own but it never degraded other
religion but it will never tolerate a religion/group who says "NO
GOD" (which is fundamental concept of Buddhist).
