Hope all of u would have visited the chennai book fair 2013. Can u pls let me know whether A history of south india book (oxford press) is available in the stall. also any interesting books we can buy relating to our epigraphy course.Pls share.

Also read an interesting article about trade routes and trade in South India- In the Hindu friday review edition 18/01/13 by Mr.Nagaswamy.

There is a book Pandian seppedugal by Dr Rajendran IAS and one on Chola seppedugal by him - forgot the stall name - but it is available in quite a few stalls Rs 300
I picked up thennattu Selvangal of chilpi - published by vikadan publishers - sketches of unique sculptures from many temples with details on each Rs 600

I & Senthil visited Book fair and we got Pandian Nattu cheppedugal - Rajendran IAS, Pallavar kala varalaru, Tamilarkalin valarchi  varalarum, panpadum, Books of Iraianbu IAS and Vairamuthu's Villodi va nilavae..-he has referred some points from history and given evidence in the book too. Good display of books at book fair and variety and also caters to our needs.Only time was not at all sufficient and heavy crowd on sunday. A history of southindia by neelakanda sastri was sold out and we could not get a copy of it.

We can get Nilakanta Sastri books from Flipkart. Not just that, even the book on Iconography by Gopinath Rao and many other good books are available. However Iconography book costs Rs.10k.

Btw today is last day of Chennai book fair.  Yesterday had picked up the following books from the fair
A.International institute of Tamil studies stall
1. Valangai maalaiyum saandror Samooga seppedugalum - our sir Ramachandran
2. Pandaith thamizh ezhuthukkal - t n Subramanian

Also picked up a novel on Yaali by mani thanigai kumar at Success book stall,  thanks to Veera's interesting observation on Yaali resembling dinosaurs during our field trip
