Actor Raghuvaran passes away

Chennai (PTI): Veteran actor Raghuvaran passed away in a hospital here on Wednesday morning following a brief illness.

Raghuvaran, 60, is survived by his ex-wife and son. He was admitted to a private hospital following an ailment about a week back. His funeral is being held on wednesday evening, family sources said.

Raghuvaran was married to actress Rohini. However, their marriage was a short lived one and ended in divorce.

He acted in more than 80 films in Tamil and Malayalam and had bagged many awards, including the Tamil Nadu government's 'Kalaimamani' award and best character artiste award.

He had acted with all top actors, including superstar Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan.

The actor had carved a niche for himself with his special style and voice modulation.

He is one of the finest actors in Tamil cinema.
I always wonder why the finest actors have mostly been used as Villains in Tamil cinema?

Think from MR Radha, Nambiyar, Ashokan, R S Manohar, Raghuvaran, Nasser, Prakashraj, Pasupathy. ( i must have missed some prominent names ) and the list goes on and will.

A small (but huge) correction Vaani. His age is not 60. He's just 50.

Mayb villian roles are more harder then hero ones...esp in facial expression, voice etc

Of course it is. But i can say sure tamil heroes at the corresponding times were not upto the mark these villains did. But who got fame at the end? Only heros heroes heroes.

I see manirathnam as an exception in using them to give great movies like Anjali, Iruvar, etc.,

VILLIANS get their fair share of salary and market rate in film industrys...they have fans too...but still i think that, educated ppl knows tt villians are actually normal ppl in real life and not as bad as their roles...but in village areas, these people consider them villian in reel and real life....

Remember.. you and me got this Civil Right, from the real.. real blood shed of our patriotic fellow men. Remember. "Jallianwala Bagh" Massacre. We stood up, losing all these innocent lives. Else, we would have still been a "Cockroach" ... right Gowri...

 

Read history..ada vitutu..Raghu oru manusana and being a celebrity.  avar family-ku condolence solaradhu right but, hate admiring them. What makes you say he's great actor... voice modulation... pesimistic & negative roles.. you and me can do it..  Many does everyday.. they aren't exposed in media.. you and me are doing that in our walks of life.

 

You haven't talked about the demise of our recent great writer "Sujatha", he shared his great knowledge with us all..

I'm sorry for the following example. But just to explain the truth. If any of your close relatives die, do you write and express sorrow in this community? Not at all. That is personal. So it doesnt mean you did not respect that person.

Sujatha is someone i really respect, someone i wondered, someone i always wanted to follow. You never can know his loss is so much personal to me and i dont need to write about that in this community.

And i've found you just always want to criticize me in whatever replies i do in this community. That is truly annoying. It doesnt matter who won the conversation/debate. It is the manner we handle the fellow group members.

I do know you'll reply to this mail with all the guns firing targeting at me to start a fresh fight.
