The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Tamils (APPG T), in association with the British Tamils Forum (BTF), will host the Thai Pongal and Tamil Heritage Month Celebration 2026 at the British Parliament, showcasing the rich traditions, culture, and heritage of the Tamil people on a global platform.

Since 2018, this significant event has been organised by BTF at Westminster Parliament, reflecting its continued commitment to promoting Tamil culture and heritage at the national level.

The 2026 celebration will take place on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, and is expected to welcome the participation of British parliamentarians, diplomats, community leaders, and distinguished guests from diverse walks of life.

Thai Pongal holds profound significance in Tamil heritage as a traditional harvest festival and is celebrated globally as part of Tamil Heritage Month, symbolising cultural pride, gratitude, and unity.

The cultural programme will feature a variety of traditional Tamil performances, including Bharatanatyam and other classical and folk dances, reflecting the depth and diversity of Tamil artistic expression.
