TechAdapt Accessible Media Center v0.5.0 Early Testing is near!

Greetings - 

Development on the TechAdapt Accessible Media Center v0.5.0 is wrapping up, and we'll be ready to send out early versions for testing starting next week.  If you're interested, please let me know.

Features in this release include:

-- Support for conversion of Microsoft Word .docx files to DAISY text-only DTBs, to HTML and to RTF.  You can also combine multiple MSWord files in a single conversion - helpful for those that scan books and clean them up in MSWord before converting them to DAISY or HTML.

-- Support for DTBook XML conversions.  Now, you no longer need the complete DAISY or NIMAS package to convert the content, only the XML file - helpful for those that don't need the images, don't download the complete package from the NIMAC or receive assignments from other organizations that send only the XML.

-- The ability to add or modify metadata when converting content to DAISY.

-- A completely redesigned user interface which is fully accessible via screen reader.

-- Substantially faster startup

-- Faster conversions in many cases

In particular, we need screen reader users to help test the new accessibility features.

Planning for the next release is starting now, so if you have some ideas or "must have" features please pass them on.
