Dear Tamarack Homeowners,
Looking for a reason to check out the newly renovated Owhyee in downtown Boise? This year the 4th Annual Luck Be Alexis Tonight: A benefit for the Dravet Syndrome Foundation will be on Saturday, September 20th at the Owhyee Rooftop (no more cleaning my houseJ)
This year our casino night is a Great Gatsby theme, so break out the cigarette holders and feather boas! The casino tables include Poker, Black Jack and Craps. There will be a silent and live auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine & beer included. Tickets are $75 per person.
As many of you know, our eldest daughter, Alexis, who is now nine years old, suffers from a rare and severe seizure disorder - Dravet Syndrome. The event will benefit the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, an organization dedicated to aggressively raising research funds for Dravet Syndrome http://www.dravetfoundation.org<http://www.dravetfoundation.org/>
In the past three years the generosity of Tamarack homeowners who have attended our event, donated vacation stays for our live auction, sponsored casino tables or donated other auction items, has helped us raise over $75,000 for much needed research.
This summer, Alexis spent almost three weeks in the intensive care unit. She had a seizure that could not be stopped, and ultimately the only choice was to induce a coma. She was in a coma for over a week. It was terrifying. It took her many weeks to recover, but she is once again smiling and enjoying life, and we are too. There is little we can do to control the seizures but supporting the Dravet Syndrome Foundation helps us to do all we can for research.
If you would like to attend our event please send me your address or ask Michael for an invitation at the meeting tomorrow. If you cannot attend but would like to contribute in anyway, just let me know I will send you more information cfit...@yahoo.com or (208) 794-4117
The Dravet Syndrome Foundation is a non profit 501 (c) (3), and all vacation stays, auction items and monetary donations are tax deductible.
Please let me know if you have any other questions about the event or the Dravet Syndrome Foundation.
Thank you for your support,
Clare & Michael Carey
